I've owned the 350Z, then a G35c, and now I have a 370Z...the G35c was a love a first sight...but the 350Z was not even a choice until the day I bought it...I didn't even know I was going to buy a car, or even planned to buy the 350Z until 5 minutes before I purchased it....hehehe, that's the problem with working at a dealership...back in 2005, a customer came in and traded in his 16 month old 2004 350Z with only 5000 miles on it...once he's signed over the vehicle, that's when I saw it and in an instant, I decided to purchase it...I saw the Z before, but never liked the car because most of the ones I saw were in Silver, and Silver just makes the 350Z look horribly ugly...so I never even thought of it...after seeing it in the white, there was no doubt I was going to own that car in that color...I thought it was such a beautiful car, and the longer I owned it, the more I fell in love with it...I still liked the G35c styling, and so when my 350Z was approaching 50k miles, I went out and searched for another car...I found a G35c with everything I wanted and in the pearl white I wanted...I was really looking for another 350Z, but told myself if I found the G35c I wanted, I would get it...well, I picked up a 2005 G35c with 8k miles (and this was back in 2007)...bought it, and HATED IT from day one....I loved the look of the G35c, even though it didn't look as nice as the 350Z, but hated everything else about it....anyway, I was stuck with the G35c for a couple years, and got rid of it a few months ago...

when the G35c first came out, I loved the styling instantly, but when the G37c came out, I KNEW right then that I will never want to own that vehicle...I remember thinking to myself that I'll buy the next generation Z, and a few years after that, I'll buy the next generation G or vice-versa...but when I saw the styling of the G, I never looked back...The add too much---how do I say it, "CLASS", to the G37c...it was obvious that they were looking to attract more older, mid-age/mid-life crisis folks rather than the young professional...and they've also gone more feminine too...more towards the female styling....

the restyling of the G-coupe reminds me of the restyling of the Lexus SC...the original SC was one sleek design, very sporty, yet luxurious....then they redesigned it, and obviously to attract an older, more feminine crowd, and they jacked up the price by quite a bit, like $10-20k...similarly, Infiniti did the same thing, redesigned the G coupe to attract older buyers with the more feminine and refined styling, and jack up the price so it stays out of the young professional group and more into the older/almost-retired group...

Sorry, it's late and I just popped a couple somas, so I may be rambling on about some nonsense in my reponse, so forgive me...

I personally think the Z is a much sexier, sportier looking car. Interior and exterior.

My neighbor has the white G37S in the driveway and I just don't think it has "It"

All personal preference though, and just my 2cents

You say you are not getting a Z, but really, you are getting a Z with a couple extra bells and whistles..... None the less, enjoy your car, you have worked for your money, and this is how you choose how to spend it..... I didn't vote in your pole however, as you should get the color that YOU want, and not listen to what others have to say.....

And--a big plus--the suspension should be a lot more relaxed than the 370's. Otherwise, they're pretty similar vehicles. Congrats'.

No hating at all from me! I love the G; not to mention you are still in the family cousin!!

Get the white man... A white G and so fresh and so clean. I have a pic on one of my PCs of a white G with black wheels. Sweet.

Thanks for posting this thread, I will now use the G as another bargining chip in my negotiation process.

If I was to get a G37, the ONLY color I would get is the pearl white

Both great cars. I think you made the right choice getting the G, though. The only reason to get a Z is performance. I could never have a Z unless it was a second or third vehicle in the garage. As your primary ride, the G makes much more sense.

I hate reading stuff like this. It makes me 2nd guess myself. Well, until I waxed it today....man my Z is pretty.

Welcome back by the way. You've been gone almost a week!
