Default Loud bang when shifting from first

Wasn't sure where to put this but I get a loud bang on the firewall or front under carriage when shifting from first to second at high rpms. It sounds like someone is punching my firewall. I know the 370z is noisy but is this normal?

2014 with 1500 miles, thanks.

That's what it sounds like to me too I just know the drive train in this car tends to be noisy.

Question

When you shift. Are you side stepping the clutch pedal?

Are you sure you're pushing the clutch in all the way before shifting to 2nd? Maybe you're shifting gears mid way into your clutch. This can create a thud from your transmission. Your engagement from 1st gear to 2nd gear is probably out of sync when you're driving aggressively.

Take it easy and slow it down. Gas pedal off, press clutch all the way in, then shift.

That's when you push the clutch pedal to the floor, and then slip your foot to the side. The clutch pedal comes back up with a bang, because it's bouncing off of the stop.

Unfortunately not the case, sure does seem like a motor mount issue.

We used to check motor mounts by putting the engine under a load and then no load while someone watched the engine and mounts. If it moved more than usual, it was usually a mount. If you got "lucky" you could see the mount separate. Not sure if this would work with a modern car, but it should.
