major issue with AEROJACKET.... anyone heard from them lately or had similar issue??
10 Attachment(s)
I'm creating this thread due to the fact that I haven't heard from AEROJACKET in over 2 months (PM or calls) and have yet to receive parts I ordered and PAID FOR as well as replacements for ones that were damaged during shipment. Has anyone had a similar issue? my story dealing with them is listed below.
So January 12, 2015 I ordered a collection of parts from AEROJACKET for my '10 370z 40th anniv. In that order was a full carbon AMUSE front, full carbon SS (sunline) side skirts and rear spats, and a carbon type-m add on spoiler (mines). My order arrived on February 24th and this is where the DRAMA began. The shipment arrived from Custom Global Logistics however the shipping label said FLY1- Motorsport, NOT AeroJacket. Some of the parts in the middle of the box had deep scratches in the clear coat, and I decided to contact AEROJACKET to see how to best handle fixing them. Replacement or fix on my own at their expense. I attached pics of the shipment and some of the damage. I know its not massive destruction, but I waited quite some time to finally build my car and paid good money for what I hoped would be good quality of parts. I contacted AEROJACKET several times over those days via email and phone with no reply. Finally, I got a PM from Richard at AeroJacket of their apology and plan to replace the parts with new ones. To which I was very much appreciative and pleased. He told me I could return the old ones once I received the new parts and approved of the quality. From February until June I went back and forth with them awaiting shipment of the replacement parts. I wouldn't hear anything for quite some time, and when I would finally get a reply via phone or PM they would ENSURE me the parts were almost done and going out SOON. Which they NEVER DID. On June 29th I decided to order the DF-1 rear diffuser from AEROJACKET to replace the rear spats I had sold on the forum. The only parts from my original order that arrived in great shape/ quality. Now is where I get PISSED. I paid for a part and have YET to receive it or any contact from the company on its whereabouts. Well its now almost November and I have sent 10-15 PM's and 10+ calls to the company. My last contact from AEROJACKET cam on July 27 via PM stating that my Diffuser was almost done and going out soon with the rest of my parts. Haven't gotten anything. If anyone knows of similar experiences or a way I can get ahold of the company (phones go to voicemail and messages aren't returned) I would greatly appreciate it. I know companies like this are probably very busy with orders, but enough is enough. If they have closed up shop and taken my money from my order, they should be ashamed of themselves, Richard and Dave. Hope this warns others from ordering form them. And if people have recently had contact with them and received shipments, PLEASE LET ME KNOW. I just want to get my parts so I can FINALLY start my build. Sam |
Sorry to hear about whats going on.
I've sent them a PM to see what could be done. I hope it gets all sorted out. |
I feel for ya. Hopefully you get everything sorted out!

I ordered CF vented fenders recently. Communication was very lacking and frustrating but I did receive the fenders after 7 weeks. Like you, at one point I was told my order was finished and being sent to packaging. Two weeks later still no shipping info and it took a few more emails before they apologized and sent tracking info. I got my fenders a week and half ago, so they are still in business. Haven't installed yet, but that look amazing.
Your invoice and shipping info shows Fly1Motorsports. I thought I read they are not the same company as Aerojacket??? Edit - just checked and the shipping address on my package is the same as your. |

Yeah I called Fly1 originally when all this started cause I saw them on the shipping label and was told they "are in no relation to AEROJACKET." To my knowledge both companies were direct competitors to one another, so I thought it was odd that my order came with their shipping information. Hope I hear from them soon. All I want is at least my diffuser I paid for. Worst case scenario I find a way to repair the sides and spoiler, which I shouldn't have to do but is what it is at this point. |
Why is Aerojacket using Fly1 business info? There must be some correlation?
|
I bought the cf duckbill wing from them and first thing that happened was ups lost it apparently.
Month later i recieve the wing and after a week it started splitting they are refunding me 50% and sending me a new wing to make it alright. Communication has been awful i had to call them through the number paypal to get a hold of them. my refund is pending and i should be getting replacement wing soon. http://puu.sh/kOYHR.jpg |
Oh wow. I'm sorry you guys had to go through this. A friend of mine had full amuse kit. It did take 3/4 months for him to receive it. However communication was 100%. If I'm not mistaking he had someone personal number from Aerojacket (don't quote me on this). I purchase front amuse from Aerojacket. Duckbill and VF1 fenders from Fly1. They both replied immediately whenever I sent a email. In fact. Fly1 I dealt with some dude from there directly through facebook.
Hope you get that situated AS SOON AS POSSIBLE ! |

Sad companies think this is ok. I know these aren't true vacuum mold dry carbon parts but quality should be better than this!! |
Despicable customer service and poor quality products.
|
I was considering the duckbill...I don't know now
|
almost ordered a front lip from them, glad i didn't now :D
|
damn i bought my amuse front bumper from them about a month ago, they have yet to ship my purchase. My emails to them is they they plan on shipping it that week. I might just have to get my money back and go with another vendor!

I heard from a member of SOCAL Z stating that FLY 1 and Aerojacket use the same distributor from Thailand for these parts so, kind of makes sense in that aspect of things (address wise). |

Would be helpful if the vendor's that are on this site would come on and post in topics like this from time to time to explain what was going on with some orders.
I understand that some of these shops or businesses get busy at times but send a quick email stating the status on an order would be helpful for the guys that use this site. :twocents: |
Sorry to hear about your troubles fellas.
Was about to order some stuff from them, glad I didnīt pull the trigger. |

I guess I wont be ordering from them any time soon, Damn, that bill though looks nice.
|
I've dealt with numerous shops & vendors and the only place I would consider has good communication is Bulletproof & corner3garage. Anywhere else... don't hold your breath. Hope everything works out op!
|
I bought a CF duckbill from them on 9/10/15, I didn't get the part until the first week of Oct. I emailed several times, and the only times I heard back is when I threatened to file a claim with Paypal. They are shady at best

I have worked with both AJ and Fly1. Their parts come from the same place. Lohit at Fly1 has amazing customer service and follows through in an extremely timely manner. Rich at AJ is difficult to get ahold of at times (I believe there is one or two other employees), but he does follow through. They do use a rather shitty shipping company (custom global logistics), but my full CF Amuse kit and hood arrived undamaged.
I hope this all works out for you. From the pictures, it looks as if most of that could be polished out easily. Trust me when I say you'll see far worse done with some normal driving from rocks and stones. |
I too have couple of experience with Aero jacket and Fly1 Motorsport.
It is true that Aero jacket needs to work on their customer service but they have always pulled through for me, the lead time is a little long though so you need to have a little more patience when it comes to dealing with them. As for the relationship between AJ and Fly1, they are two separate companies but they do work with each other as far as I know, so I shouldn't worry if some items are shipped from Fly1. Lohit from Fly1 is a very reputable guy, he helped me quit a bit on my projects. I think most of AJ's parts are made to order so the lead time is generally greater than companies that stock their items. It would be even longer if their manufacturer is in Thailand (can't confirm that). |
Still havent received my replacement wing and they wont contact me.
also the refund they are sending me has been denied by their bank. Update recieved my refund now waiting for replacement wing |
I emailed them on sunday and they stated my bumper was going to be shipped this week. well its friday no response and emailed them again about the status of my bumper. looks like im going to have to request my refund.

Sorry to hear about your issues. Sometimes shops do get very busy, and other times they just don't have the procedures implemented to ensure that orders don't fall through the cracks. Not trying to take a side on either team, just hoping I can give some insight. If there's anything I can do to try to help as a member of the community let me know. Good luck!

So I created this thread on 10/17/15, I have YET to hear anything from AEROJACKET. No call, PM or otherwise. It's so frustrating because I just wanted to finally build my car the way I planned. if anyone has received any contact from AEROJACKET recently please let me know.
|
Like you know I did reach out to them and have no response either :ugh2:
10/19/15 was the last time they were in here. I would continue to try their business # at this point. Sorry! |
just terrible, sorry you have to go through this bro
|
Ive had nothing but good experiences with Rich at aero jacket. Maybe he's going through some personal issues. Im sure thats no comfort to those who are waiting for results but i have to think that there's something going on behind the scene thats causing this. They've been a vendor in good standing for quite some time now so hopefully whatever is causing this is temporary and gets sorted out soon. As for the correlation between fly1 and aero jacket they are in the same building so thats why the shipping info says that. Im sorry to hear this guys i really hope this gets resolved soon. Its always a shame when things like this hapoen in our community
|
Ive been told my replacement wing has been finished but it will be shipped after they get home from sema
|
Sorry to hear OP. I got a full lip kit about a year ago from them, and when I got in a accident, they sold me another kit at a discounted price. From when I spoke with him, aerojacket is a side business that he has. He also is a owner/manager of a bar somewhere in LA. So I could imagine how busy he must be with running a bar, the shop, and getting ready for sema.
Just providing some insight on the situation, aerojacket I think should stay local, and aren't exactly ready for nationwide sales from what it seems. |
i totally agree with you, worse feedback from any other company iv worked with, its been over 2months now, no response.

I ordered my Type 3 Carbon Fiber Duckbill spoiler from Rich with Aerojacket and communication at times took a couple days but other than that he delivered the finished product in a $HIT load of bubble and protective wrap. Fitment and Filament is beautiful. As for communication wise, I know his wife works more than he does, and on top of that he is the main guy at Aerojacket. There are 2 other guys that come in as well to help. Something I did notice when he dropped my product off though was that he has 4 kids. Since his wife isn't able to help much he has to run Aerojacket and on top of it play Mr. Mom. As for the correlation of Fly1 and Aerojacket, you are close. Lohit's Fly1 shop is in Gardena and the Aerojacket shop is in Torrance. They are infact though the same product and made the same way with the same processes. Fly1 has more of a selection when it comes to products though. |
So I found out today through FB (370z z34) page that AEROJACKET is now closing its business. They have taken orders from several people I know and appears others in this forum, yet with every email, phone call and PM I send, I have YET to hear from the company. Someone posted today that Richard is closing his business due to family issues. Well guess what buddy, you just screwed my family out of $700 worth of my hard earned money and even more if you consider the damaged parts. I can't believe people do business this way today and can get away with it. I will be contacting PayPal and my back and requesting a refund or return of my funds. Hopefully there is a light at the end of this $h!t tunnel. If you are thinking of buying anything from AEROJACKET recently, DONT. They will scam you also.

This is messed up. Sorry for your loss man. I feel your pain. I dealt with Richard purchasing an entire kit from him - lip, skirt, wing, fenders, etc. He was a class act and really took care of me. Paid him cash, he picked up my car after setting it up, sent me pix of the build, and drove the car back to me. It really was smooth transaction. He swapped out my wing for the infamous ducktail. He also swapped a replacement FRP skirt for a CF skirt after I let him know I was not happy with the paint work on the FRP skirt. All in all, I have nothing but praise for the guy based on my personal experience. I am not defending Richard, just sharing my personal experience. No excuse for the loss he created for you.
