The Z is a poor man's Cayman. Personally, I like the look of the Z better, but Porsche is Porcshe.

The Z is a two seat sports car, complaining about cargo space and versatility is ridicules. If you want versatility buy a quad cab pickup.

I am fortunate enough to have different vehicles for different purposes, and my Z is for my own selfish personal enjoyment.

uhh wtf are people hauling? I was able to fit a mini cooler, 2 back packs ,2 packed dufflebags, a bucket, a walking stick, a case of water, my emergency kit nicely between the rear and behind the seats during my road trip. could have squeezed another case of water (it turned into a 6pack of craft on the way home) and kept the trunk cover over it the entire time without blocking the rear window at all.

I was astonished to find how much cargo space is available on the Genesis over my 370. Then again its a bigger GT car, not a tiny sports car.

Another aspect to separate the two vehicles: depreciation.

The Z does much better with that than the Genesis Coupe.

Damnnn and the Z depreciates pretty bad too, I cant imagine any worse depreciation on the genesis.

LOL, poor man Cayman, that is too funny. I love my Z, would I get a Genesis, hell no. The Z is just in a league of its own, I mean its not a camaro, its not a mustang. But with some minor upgrades Our Z's become monsters.

They're both nice cars.

Whats minor? a twin scroll turbo? HFC and CAI are minor, and that does not make it a monster.

any sports car depreciates more than a regular econobox.

why you may ask?

i return the question:

what the fk you buy a sports car for then?

and answer my own question. to drive more aggresively and spirited than you could in a prius.

The 370Z is more like a modern porsche 944 the only differences would be a beefier over engineered platform at twice the price.

it's all the same. really depends on if you care about practicality and how much cash you have to spend. i bought my genesis coupe 3.8 track loaded out with every single option available for 31kOTD back in 2011 (bought a 2012 model). for the price, it couldn't be beat. it was fast, handled superbly and had all the latest tech options. The only thing i wish is that it was a bit more polished. Like I mentioned before, the tranny just didn't feel as crisp.

Please don't compare a 370z to a porsche. if you've ever driven one, you know, they're porsches and in a league of their own.

you are right though, aesthetically, they do look quite similar.

Pretty much this. However, I have the BK2, 2ND generation (2013+) Faster and more polished than bk1. The bk2 is MORE polished than my '13 Z. Loaded and more tech than the z. Though still not quite as quick or sharp.

If you've ever driven a 944 turbo? You'd know the Z is light years ahead of that car in every way.... It's also almost 2 decades older.

And THATS the beauty of the 370!! That I couldn't enjoy 99% of the time. It's the fun if a BRZ with POWER!! So, not being rich, I chose the better DD of the Genesis over the scalpel and fun of the the Z. Gen my offers 90% of Z performance with 120% comfort/ convenience. No it won't out run, out turn a 370. But 99% there's no way I'm utilizing 90% of my Genesis performance let alone the Z.
