What I don't get is why it became an issue how people spend their money that you feel the need to create a thread for it. Jealous much? No one made a thread voicing their opinion on your Borla exhaust so why criticze someone over a shift knob?

To each his own. Spend your money how you like.

However, this question makes my blood boil (you know in the I am bored and want to argue on the internet sort of way). I don't know how much money you make or how much any person with a TK knob makes, but suffice it to say that at this point in life I make enough money to own a dozen TK knobs if it suited me (as I am sure many other people here could).

The assumption that the OP questioning the TK knob is some form of jealousy is absurd.

The original post, as I read it, was asking whether or not there was a reason, other than the exclusivity, or name recognition, that the TK knob is so highly sought after. I'd say most, if not all of us can agree that there are other knobs (including the fatboy TK knock-off knob) that will get you what you need in terms of a good shift knob, and save you some $$$. However, if you want TK, gotta be hellaJDM or whatever, then go for it; pay the premium.

I have and will continue to spend money on my car(s) in ways that won't make sense to any body but me. That is the beauty of modding cars.

If you're referring to me, where do I criticize anyone? Jealous, no buy whatever makes you happy, I could care less. I started the thread because I had a question . I didn't know why Tommy Kaira knobs were so much, now I do because of this thread.

You're welcome to draw your own conclusion. Maybe I didn't word my thought properly enough when I wrote "Well I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who thinks it's ridiculous"

I do think it's ridiculous that companies charge $250+ for a simple shift knob, but if people want to pay it, that's their prerogative.

FWIW and somewhat related to the thread. The Fat Boy knobs are in stock. I dunno how often they go out of stock, but I'd been checking on and off for like 4-5 months.

It's absurd to post your opinion in a thread before reading through all the posts.
