Why don't you try it and let us know since your the first one who gave us the idea that it might also have the same benefit with your RX8.

Just a suggestion to your question #3

Curious about the benefit of adding oil to the gas..... 5oz per tank full (16 gallon tank on rx8) puts you at something like a 500:1 dilution ratio.

Omg regular gas is for regular cars, premium gas is for sexy's z's also if you want full performance of the z , premium or die. Lol

5 quarts of synthetic oil per oil change will do the same thing.

And I would like the heat to come on without the air conditioner. I really don't want to turn it off all the time.

And in cold weather does an engine need high octane just for everyday driving?
Are you stoned?
This isn't a rotary that is designed to burn oil...

Also, I hope you didn't run full synthetic on your rotary either. You're supposed to premix with 2 stroke oil and you're DEFINITELY not supposed to run full synthetic in a rotary

and just how are you judging "smooth out the motor"? If you can sense it's running rough, you have a bigger problem.

Even though my post is an āss kicker.

Premixing IS a thing on rotaries. My buddy's all do it. BUT their engines also inject a BIT of oil into the combustion chamber to keep the apex seals lubed up

Anything with a high compression ratio needs premium fuel. It doesn't have to be a performance car even, dinky little high fuel efficiency turbo equipped cars often require premium fuel despite doing 0-60 slower than a Nissan Altima.

Performance cars just have it doubly bad, they burn more of the stuff and it costs more. But the OP should have done things like factor the cost of fuel / non-rotatable tires on a Z into the initial pre-purchase evaluation. Rather than deciding after the fact that the car's too expensive to operate and cheaping out on fuel.

If you have a Z and can't afford premium fuel you bought the wrong car...if you can't afford something don't try to cut corners

Also does premium fuel really matter? ( I do understand the whole octane thing,) but I never used premium on my RX 8, and it worked fine.

And last, I did ( premix oil in the gas ) on my RX 8, does anyone premix on their Z?

thanks

1. Make sure the AC is off before turning off the engine.

2. The premium fuel is what's recommended for optimal performance.

3. No need to premix any gas. Just fill up with Premium and be on your way.

Please take a few minutes to read the owners manual to familiarize yourself.

Why are you even trying to compare a wankel motor to a piston motor? Read up here on the forum more and follow suit to the tried and true who have been there done that here On mods.
Don't mean to be disrespectful but RX8 ' S and Z are not comparable at all in the engine department.

I don't mean to perpetuate the octane debate, but just an interesting aside.

The KA24DE in the Altima recommends 89 octane. The same engine in the 240sx (same timing and compression) recommends 91/93 octane.

Mine always gets 89 and does fine, but it's an old 90s car not a newer technology packed over-engineered thingie.
