NY, Exactly, it's a simple shift but my Z does occasionally rev. If I shift above 3k, it doesn't happen. Also I never noticed it happening to me on 4th to 5th.

Interesting to see this thread. I've actually been having the same issues and made a thread about it. Definitely think 3rd gear is too sensitive when shifting from 4th to 5th. I think I'm getting better at it though

I only glanced through that section (I had the 7AT), but, IIRC, you can adjust the position sensor. My memory has been wrong before. FSM is always a good read for those who are curious about how the 370Z works.
