That's obscene if it's stock parts. And there's no reason to put stock parts back in. You can do better, cheaper and more reliable with aftermarket. If you put an OEM CSC back in you're crazy.

I hope that is a future estimate and not a bill for work that has been done. Good upgraded after market parts ftw.

Why new master and slave cylinders as well as the line for a clutch job?

THey say is because the Clutch and Flywheel they would be installing is a high performance part that has been added to new Z's and GTR and so the Slave and Master Cylinder would have to be compatible.

My prices at a specialist brake and clutch outfit .... prices are in Australian Dollars (each A-dollar is about 80 US cents)

1. 1350kg clamping force cover 5-puck sprung centre clutch plate, includes lightweight flywheel, pilot bush and new slave cylinder - A$1400 including all state and federal taxes plus freight
2. Fitting - remove gearbox, remove dual mass PoS flywheel and old pilot bush, fit new flywheel, pilot bush and clutch, refit box, bleed clutch and road-test - 6.5 hours and A$560 including 1-litre of Motul DOT 5.1 brake fluid. I supplied the new flywheel fasteners because I had them in stock

Total was less than A$2K (about USD 1600 or so)

You are being taken advantage of .......

That said, I have had extensive dealings with my shop over 18 years and the reason I go back is because they do great work at a good price.

Maybe this is a benefit from being in the Southern Hemisphere ??

So ... Stillen has a "high performance" aluminum flywheel AND clutch for under $1000. I have no idea if it is a good or bad set.

clutch and flywheel set

Less than half what your guy is charging. I agree with the rest ... run like the wind.

Can't speak about the Stillen flywheel quality, but the ACT pressure palte and disk is awesome. I used the ACT HD/SS (which this kit includes) on my Evo IX and loved it for Auto-X. It only firmed up the pedal feel slightly over stock, but not much to even notice. The engagement was really smooth and not much shudder. This pressure plater should hold up to around 420lbs TQ.
