Default like to say thank you to this forum

Just wanted to say thanks for addressing the steering lock failure. We had the car in storage , as you remember would not start changed the battery still nothing .. I then started to read all the problems associated with the 09 to 12 steering lock.. Well ran the VIN and sure enough her car was part of the recall.. I had it rollbacked to the dealership last night and they had to verify twice it was included the recall.. Happy to report that's what is was and they installed rev @4 ; hopefully this one will be better. Again just wanted to say Thank You for the all the sound information that is in this forum. He told us at the dealersship it's about a 700.00 piece and a couple bucks to put it on..

People are typically out $1200+ for part, labor, and tow when it happens. Rev D (you said 4) has reported failures as well. Do yourself a favor and pull the fuse asap (or cut the wire or order the harness).

this happened to me last january as well. however mine was not included in the recall. thanks to this forum i was told to beat the steering lock with a hammer to try to unlock it. i walked into the dealer where my car was towed and bashed my car with a hammer and happily drove home

Glad all is well and will be covered. The 12's should not have issues (unless it was an early production '12 I guess). Just so you are prepared, watch for the csc failure and diff bushings wearing out early.

All 12's come with Rev D. Even my 2011 wasn't under the recall (think they went from C to D in early 2011 models). I pulled the fuse during the break-in period over 60K miles ago because there were already reported failures of Rev D at that time.

So you think it's funny when someone else gets stranded when their Rev B fails because they thought it was fine after reading your post?
