Smile HELP......Gain HP IN 2013 370z nismo without voiding warranty

Hello all and thanks for the help

I have done a lot of work to my nismo, but mainly looks, lightening, audio, and video.

Now I would love to get some awesome HP without voiding my warranty.

So far I have added the Takeda Air Intake Systems - TA-3017P and basically dropped my muffler and just straight piped it. I have never dyno'd it to see what I am at right now..... It still has the stock cat and resonators on it. The sound of the engine is perfect for me!

Any and all ideas are appreciated.....
Thanks again

You will only void the warranty for any parts you change out and the parts the mods directly break. In some cases, indirectly break too.

I am certain if I go full exhaust or twin turbos, that pretty much voids all warranties correct?

Lol, I love the range. Simple mod or full blown balls to the wall.

A TT kit will likely void the warranty on most the power train unless your dealership is REALLY good and Nissan is lazy. When you get a tune and you revert back to stock and take your car in, Nissan and/or the dealer will know and a flag will be raised. Many cars get fully black listed. When you go TT expect that the drive train is your problem now. You'll still retain the warranty on the rest of the car.

Depends, if you're going TT then half the NA mods get deleted off the to do list.

In my experience, if you are worried about warranty then leave it stock. A cautious approach would be a cold air intake and cat-back exhaust and call it a day.

Dealerships are all different. Just because something SHOULD be covered under warranty, doesn't mean the dealership will actually submit it to Nissan. A different dealership might do it without hesitation. Being a longtime loyal customer of the dealership helps your cause GREATLY in this regard.

I have heard rumors and stories, which I will not confirm, about guys with fully built GTR's blowing their motors and having them taken back to stock for warranty work, all with the dealership's prior knowledge.

On the other hand, I have personally seen a Chevy dealership deny a claim from a Corvette owner with a cold-air-intake who sucked up water into the engine (heavy rain but no flooding) and blew a 3 inch hole in his block. He had to pay for the whole thing out of his pocket.

My advice, build a relationship with your dealership and be up front with them. Tell them what you are thinking of doing BEFORE you do it and ask them if that will void any future warranty claims.

Once you realize that a warranty is just another form of marketing, you will be free from its hold on you.
