Default Removing The Resonator Tomorrow

Hey guys I will be removing the resonator tomorrow on my Nismo. I expect it better than it does right now. For me it is just too quiet. I might do HFC later on to compliment the Nismo catback with no resonators. What do you guys think?

I would just save the money and either buy a used set or new hfc's

You start hacking your exhaust and it will just make it worth less in the event you want to sell it later on to upgrade the exhaust. IMO

Well, its definitely going to be louder without resonators. You may get some drone afterwards. I removed the resonators on my Ark exhaust and it made a big difference as far as loudness. Go for it.

Thanks for the replies guys. I just want something louder without breaking the bank for now. I'm not ready to spend 1500 on exhaust just yet so this will have to do. I'm so excited. BTW do you guys know if I will pass smog here in Cali with Berk HFC? I know I won't pass visual but that isn't a problem IMO.

I removed mine and it sounds much better... In the end, I ordered an FI cat back system anyway.. just need it installed coming dec... If you need the money, dont mod it so you can sell the exhaust... just get one that is louder anyway,, but if you dont care.. which I dont,, then go for it!

I went with a muffler delete, AAM Short-tails. Great sound for the money. There are plenty of videos on youtube and in the tech section under exhaust....including mine. Good luck no matter what you decide.

That sounds enticing man! But wouldn't you get drone with no muffler back there?

Yep...it does on hard acceleration, under load and around 3,500 rpms, but you can find a sweet spot. Also, at cruising speed, 70 to 80 miles an hour it's no different than with the muffler. I'm thinking about a resonated y pipe or AAM resonated H and mid pipe which are under consideration. My thought is if I decide to do something different I can, including putting the muffler back on and sale the straight pipes and not be out much money at all. The pipes are @ $450.

I did it guys! And what a difference! WOW I am keeping my stock Nismo exhaust and maybe getting y pipe. What y pipe is the best on the market right now? It sounds just like stock but amplified a bit. I highly reccomend this mod to anyone that has a Nismo and isn't looking to spend over $1000 on exhaust. The catback is already 2.5 inch piping. All that need replacing is the ypipe which is 2.25 in diameter. Sound clips will be up today after work.

do you think it would sound good with resonated test pipes and resonator delete?

Removing the res made it sound better but not after putting other things on it. I put test pipes on and it sounded horrible! In the end I wish I never removed them. I now have all FI test pipes and exhaust thankfully!
