I'm pretty sure you're correct, torpedo, although calculating insurance varies from place to place. If somewhere an insurance company can use that as an excuse to milk you for more money, you know they will.

Not to slam any particular insurance company but I check rates annually just to see if my current premium is in line with others. I had been with the company with the green mascot for 16 years! When I bought the Z I checked rates again. Apparently they were trying to gouge me on the new car. Right inline with your comment. I switched and saved >$400 a year.
