To me it really doesn't make sence to buy a Z without another vehicle in the household that has more passenger space and hauling abilities.

I wonder if people also realized they paid significantly more but got relatively less for their money. Marginal at best performance gains and no leather, no heated seats, no nav...

You get a plaque with your Nismo car number though, so that's gotta be worth $5k alone.

Nice comment but its just your opinion. Different drivers want different things in a sports car.

"Relatively less" is completely subjective in this case and is based on what one needs and desires in a car. In my case I spent less on the nismo then a sport/touring would have cost me, trading those things for a better looking Z with wheels that I wouldn't have to swap out was well worth it. Even the bose system would have been a waste since I would have replaced it. If my Z was my daily driver I would have given alot more consideration to those items, but then again buying a two seat car as a daily driver wouldn't be a smart decision on my part. Again, all comes down to ones opinion and what your needs are in a car.

Historically, limited production cars fetch a better resale then base models so there may be some value in the plaque.

To each his own, be happy with what you bought and enjoy driving it. If the car puts you in your happy place then its doing everything that it should and nothing anyone else says should ever matter.

Every chance they get it's nismo bashing time. They are just upset that other people don't think the way they do. That peoples tastes differ. That when parked next to a nismo it nothing special looking, looks regular. When I first got my nismo I ran 5.3/13.8 just like the motorweek review. Heard all the pros say this vq engine breaks in much later. I now have over 4k miles. According to my gtech pro I now see 4.9/13.4... I could get a base vette but damm the grand sport looks so much cooler...

Vett ? I had one new in 05 was a total **** box... Hey a Nismo is a Nismo its different like i said before every one is driving a Camaro or Challenger today well at least on long island ..... I cant go any place with out someone asking about my car...And i do agree its not a every day driver you need a more practical car , at least in the northeast... And this is coming from a guy who has many different cars over the years.. Plus i got it cheap!!

You obviously dont know what your talking about. Why dont you take a look at what the body kit alone sells for. The real one, not the lesser quality one. Then the rims and other parts that it has, and you would see that you do get what you pay for...

Jumping into this argument; some people sell their nismos because they didn't do enough research to realize that the harshness, manual transmission in bad traffic, louder noise in nismos would be some they couldn't tolerate over the long run. Other reasons could be purely monetary or change in family situation I guess.

Spearfish, no hate but you are dead wrong about your statement. Most on this forum are willing to pay premium money for the upgraded Nismo rims, brakes, suspension, beautiful body kit, Nismo CBE, badging... all of which if you were to add to a base or touring would set you pretty close or above the Nismo pricing. It always amaze me the number of members with non-nismo trims longing for the nismo upgrades yet turning around and hating on the forum nismos peers It's all Zs the Nismos just look so darn better unless you want to spend another 5k just on the body kit

Forum member Jordo made some great posts about how non-nismo trims need to add CBE, TP, tune (thus more money over the nismo upgrades) just to catch up to bone stock nismos. You do the math once the Nismo also get the same CBE, TP, tune... No Nav, heated seats, bose speakers are features that can be taken care of for a very marginal cost.

I like the 370z touring but I love the nismo, on numerous occasions, random people gave the thumbs up to the nismo over the non-nismo. By now I'm sure most nismo owners are used to all the stares/flirting at stop lights and at chauffered mercedes execs, porsches, audis & bmws chasing us around just to figure what the make and model of the car is

oh my god man, please! Dont flatter yourself here, lose the self righteous bit too while you are at it. The ratio of these people "longing for the nismo upgrades" is tiny, minimal, at BEST!! The meat of use know that way better parts can be had for the money, so dont generalize the masses with the few exceptions. I dont why ANYONE would pay 2-3K for some nismo rims when you can get VOLKS for the same...basically anything coming from a nismo car i usually see bargain shoppers buying, why I dont know...better parts can be had for the price, but hey there is a sucker born every minute. And to call a Nismo Bone is stock is ridicules. It has an upgraded exhaust, a tune, and a suspicion that a change to VVEL has been made. Bone stock, no...sorry dont think so....throw a TRUE STOCK 370Z exahust and detune the nismo ECU to a TRUE STOCK 370Z tune, slap em both on a dynojet and i can promise you they will be both within 5rwhp +/- there is NOTHING special about your engine from ours. Theres is absolute no "hating" as you want to put it either, its more like: please snap out of your dream, and join the rest of us in reality, your car was not made from baby jesus DNA.

LOL dude, I'm not going to get into arguments with you nor am I pretenting to be self righteous. You just made the point I was trying to bring to spearfish about justifying the higher pricing on the nismo, oh yea if your argument is about detuning the nismo and putting the stock 370z exhaust on a nismo (Why the heck would anyone want to do it?) as a proof that the nismo is no good, I don't know what to say You got your taste, I got mine, you love your car, I love mine period. What does baby Jesus/dream have to do with this, I've got no idea.

only and exclusivley to prove that the nismo Z is just like any other 370Z when it comes to engine and power. The Nismo is sold modified and tuned therefore it dynos more "stock" than regular 370Z, but in fact its not stock. Am glad you love your nismo, hey i love it too, I also love my 370Z....there just this specific arrogance thats been going on with nismo owner thinking non nismo owners are jeleous, LMAO thats just not the case...thats where all the unicorn blood/baby jesus DNA jokes come from

Yea i know... but people keep complaining that it isn't worth the extra 5k we pay over a base+sport.

I mean if it wasn't worth it then why buy a 370z and not a miata and just modify that? Or just buy a miata shell and drop an LSx in it? End price may be almost just as much as a base 370z and you get much more power and a better power to weight ratio than most cars in the streets.

All the nismo owners bought the nismo because it was worth it. None of us care for the minor power bump that came with it. I mean sure it's nice to have all the little extras but 99% of us bought the nismo for it's looks, not the power.

I totally agree, its worth the extra money for just the Body kit period. The suspension tweaks, rims tune are just extra perks on top. I hate my fangs, ill be the first to say they are pretty hideous. When i had my 350, one of the best front bumpers ever was the Nismo V2, so sexy...hopefully they will come out with something like this in the future, or ill just wait for another company
