![]() I wonder if people also realized they paid significantly more but got relatively less for their money. Marginal at best performance gains and no leather, no heated seats, no nav... You get a plaque with your Nismo car number though, so that's gotta be worth $5k alone.

"Relatively less" is completely subjective in this case and is based on what one needs and desires in a car. In my case I spent less on the nismo then a sport/touring would have cost me, trading those things for a better looking Z with wheels that I wouldn't have to swap out was well worth it. Even the bose system would have been a waste since I would have replaced it. If my Z was my daily driver I would have given alot more consideration to those items, but then again buying a two seat car as a daily driver wouldn't be a smart decision on my part. Again, all comes down to ones opinion and what your needs are in a car. Historically, limited production cars fetch a better resale then base models so there may be some value in the plaque. To each his own, be happy with what you bought and enjoy driving it. If the car puts you in your happy place then its doing everything that it should and nothing anyone else says should ever matter. |

Vett ? I had one new in 05 was a total **** box... Hey a Nismo is a Nismo its different like i said before every one is driving a Camaro or Challenger today well at least on long island ..... I cant go any place with out someone asking about my car...And i do agree its not a every day driver you need a more practical car , at least in the northeast... And this is coming from a guy who has many different cars over the years.. Plus i got it cheap!!

Jumping into this argument; some people sell their nismos because they didn't do enough research to realize that the harshness, manual transmission in bad traffic, louder noise in nismos would be some they couldn't tolerate over the long run. Other reasons could be purely monetary or change in family situation I guess.

It's all Zs the Nismos just look so darn better unless you want to spend another 5k just on the body kit ![]() Quote:
I like the 370z touring but I love the nismo, on numerous occasions, random people gave the thumbs up to the nismo over the non-nismo. By now I'm sure most nismo owners are used to all the stares/flirting at stop lights and at chauffered mercedes execs, porsches, audis & bmws chasing us around just to figure what the make and model of the car is

I dont why ANYONE would pay 2-3K for some nismo rims when you can get VOLKS for the same...basically anything coming from a nismo car i usually see bargain shoppers buying, why I dont know...better parts can be had for the price, but hey there is a sucker born every minute. And to call a Nismo Bone is stock is ridicules. It has an upgraded exhaust, a tune, and a suspicion that a change to VVEL has been made. Bone stock, no...sorry dont think so....throw a TRUE STOCK 370Z exahust and detune the nismo ECU to a TRUE STOCK 370Z tune, slap em both on a dynojet and i can promise you they will be both within 5rwhp +/- there is NOTHING special about your engine from ours. Theres is absolute no "hating" as you want to put it either, its more like: please snap out of your dream, and join the rest of us in reality, your car was not made from baby jesus DNA.

I mean if it wasn't worth it then why buy a 370z and not a miata and just modify that? Or just buy a miata shell and drop an LSx in it? End price may be almost just as much as a base 370z and you get much more power and a better power to weight ratio than most cars in the streets. All the nismo owners bought the nismo because it was worth it. None of us care for the minor power bump that came with it. I mean sure it's nice to have all the little extras but 99% of us bought the nismo for it's looks, not the power. |
