Default 41-41.5k for Nismo OTD????

So I've been looking at Nismos here on the west coast and it seems the best I can do is 41-41.5k otd. This is with Nevada 8.1% tax which is roughly 3k in tax in this price segment. About another 400 for doc fees and 28 bucks for title transfer. So all said and done I'm getting the car for roughly 37600-38100. I keep trying to get the dealers to go to 39-40k otd but I keep getting the same story of "it's a nismo, it's going to hold it value better." I've tried several approaches, including going in not wanting a Nismo and then "being sold on it." Is this just about the best I'll be able to do on the 2010's? If it is I'll pull the trigger on Monday but otherwise I'll just wait.

Just got my 10' nismo last week for a little under 36000 before taxes n title. But I bought near Baltimore and winter on setting in. I do know that all nismo's in this area are advertised at invoice which is in the 36.5 area. Hope this helps. I personally got dealer to give me hold back too but like I said Winter is here and they had 3 in stock. But I also had to drive it home in the snow!

I basically got my car for 41.2k OTD too. But our tax rate is 10.25%. I think the dealer made a mistake and only charged me 8.75%.

I am in TX and got my 2010 Nismo 370 two weeks ago in Dallas for 37k without TTL. It was about 38k OTD.

This was at Courtesy Nissan in Richardson, TX.

in my opinion for a 2010...you should be closer to >40K out the door.

I was quoted 42k otd for a 2011 with all the xtras a nismo can get. They played the same card on me and said that it being a nismo it holds its value better, dealer is only making 1k out of the deal, no special offers or incentives, etc etc. Same thing with a remaining 2010 they had. They did offer to throw a car cover into the deal lol

Well one of the dealers called back today stating they could probably do 40k OTD for me. Told them I would be in Monday after work (damn dealers aren't open here on Sundays which makes car buying hard). We'll see what happens. I'm thinking it's just a ploy to get me in the dealership again but we'll see.

In the end I already have a dealership ready to take my order for a 2011 sport touring at invoice. The only reason I even started looking at the Nismos was because it's the only other option I would consider. Finding a sport touring manual in blue with kick plates and no splash guards is impossible to find and has to be ordered. I figured the Nismo would be kind of a good trade off if I didn't have to wait but could also get one at a good deal.

I didn't actually pay that much in taxes, I did buy a security+ agreement on this car up to 75k miles which was most of that extra $$$.

If you are still looking you might consider purchasing the car ONLINE (maybe from a dealership in another state) and simply flying out to pick it up or having it shipped to you. $40k seems awfully expensive considering the pricing we are getting in Texas and it might be cheaper for you to do it that way.

I don't know what I was thinking. It was $2200 in tax, at 6.25%.
