Bottom line, it's your money, you earned it, do what you want with it, lol. You asked for an opinion, and got your money's worth. I think the car you're looking at is over-priced, but I don't know the market in California. I've never paid MSRP or above for a car.
A little patience, rather than licking the window sticker, can pay off. Literally, not figuratively. The fact that you are on here asking about the deal suggests to me that you have a few misgivings about it. Listen to your instincts.
Again, good luck getting you a car you can live with.

I would say **** it and get the Nismo-Z BUT I would look for a low mileage 15 or 16 ,let the first owner take the loss. I bet you could get a 16 Nismo-Tech for ~36, and dont be scared to look out of state considering distance.Your 27, single, and as long as your not counting on your GF to support you or the car go for it!!! Another thing, you will not be taking as big as a loss when purchasing a 15 or 16 if you decide you dont like it..
You sound like a level-headed guy so as long as you keep your money in order and pay your loan on time you should be fine plus your credit score will increase with timely payments. Dont get the Crap-olaS you will hate that you did not get what you really wanted.

When I want something, I want it bad and I can comfortably afford it, I'm getting it. I don't care what others say. I love the 15+ Nismo and I'm super picky. I'd rather have a car like this brand new then used or not have it at all. Too me its something special, want it right from factory and worth the extra cash. If you're comfortable with payments and love the car that much, I say do it man.

yeah, this is horsecrap, no one can figure out what you're saying. Just wait till you get home/work and type like a human so other humans can read and comprehend what you're trying to say

i don't know why you're bringing up getting a 2017 corolla.

If all you want is a cheap DD . . . get a cheap DD. There's probably a 1997 Corolla out there for a couple grand that will get you 30mpg with chump change insurance that will get you to work.

Then you can save damn near your whole pay check and buy a damn house.

Get a raise, build up your credit, and get a used Z in 2 years for half what you'd pay now. Profit.

I think almost all of us are saying to not buy a brand new car. Particularly a brand new car that's almost identical to the same model from 8 years ago.

My advice is to go find an older sports package Z with 30-40k miles on it, but ultimately you should do what you believe is best for you.

Save that money for a house, man, thats way more important and also much better investment.

Your 48k Z is gonna be worth far less than that in a year.

Factor in also you're gonna be paying insurance on a brand new car at . . . i'm sure age 20 something?

Don't get your girlfriend involved in this ****. You aren't married, the relationship can end anytime, and she makes more money than you, now u are in an awkward position.

Bottom line:
in your current situation, buy a reliable used car as a DD and save your damn money.

I didn't buy my Z until i had a house for a few years and made it to six figures at work
even then i bought used on my nismo to save around 25% off the new price
Well said...good stuff...

I agree! I got my '12 370Z with 38xxx miles for a a pretty good deal.

Now I get how the OP sees this, I was in the same position last year.
I just turned 20 and had no expenses, so i thought that paying $200 a month is nothing but it really adds up. Insurance is $150 compared to my beater at $60 a month and gas is double any regular economic car.

Although, My credit score was almost 800 when i took my loan (I also had almost 1/2 of the purchase price as a downpayment)

To the OP, I would honestly recommend not buying anything until you have at least a 5-10K down payment and certainly not a brand new car.

Regardless this is what I don't get they will loan me 48k, but 14k? I mean. To me I see it as getting a loan for getting a loan for 34k and just paying the difference, regardless I was curious if my g.f co signs will that make it so I don't have to do a down payment?
Anyone who is expert in any of this and could help me with some advice I want illuminum light up kick plates and license plate and floor mats car cover but I mean sure don't feel like a great deal that 48 does not include that stuff.
Also she has good credit with a lot of credit history all payments on time, and she makes 6 figures.
Thanks

One last thing, I used to own a 3G Eclipse my drive way is of and people tend to scrape I didn't in my 3G if I came in at the correct angle ground clearance on that car was 5.8 what is the 17 NISMO? I don't want to scare a close to 50k car from my drive way lol that's all thanks, I apologise is this is hard to read in working and texting it via my phone.
48k for 84 months? With no credit interest rates maybe around 5% Payments will be 678 a month. So you will actually be paying a total of 56,952....then you will get killed on resale in 7 years when you get 25k or so for it. This will cause you to lose approximately 30K at a minimum. Buying used will get you the same car at a lower price and will save you a ton in the end... Buying new is never financially smart. I say financially because there are reasons that people buy new beyond financial reasons....but in 99% of the cases they should have purchased used.

So your paying 700 a month for 84 months? = $58,800
Great choice in car its reliable and performance is great...but you paid way too much for a 370z...
You will lose a ton in the first year just in immediate depreciation...
So its bad only because when you sell it you will have lost probably 40k +....

You could have purchased the exact same car maybe a 2015 with low low miles used for lower 30's....total loss would probably have been 1/2 the loss ...saving you over 20k if you purchased used.

However, if you keep it that long is better than if you sell it say in 2 years....because the immediate depreciation will leave you upside down owing probably more than you can even sell it for.
