Brand new 2017 NISMO tech

So, I have a question for those of you who purchased a new NISMO, first off I make 68k a year, transunion and ecofax are like 650 for a 2017 NISMO tech I wanted to get a good deal, first thing is first I was offered a full loan 48k it's tax and all, but they said I need 14k down that sounds like alotim not worried about the ARP, I want to do 84 months devided by 48k = so 571 a month payment I am able to more then afford that, I don't plan to pay for more then three years, but I still want to go with a 84 months, so, I wanted to try to get a good deal I've seen what a lot of people's otd price is and I thought I could negotiate, they said they don't get a rebate and they won't go much near invoice, so 44k 48 after taxes, I mean I want the car badly and I can afford the payments, but I don't want to put 14k down, im going to assume that's always up to the financial loaners? Regardless this is what I don't get they will loan me 48k, but 14k? I mean. To me I see it as getting a loan for getting a loan for 34k and just paying the difference, regardless I was curious if my g.f co signs will that make it so I don't have to do a down payment?
Anyone who is expert in any of this and could help me with some advice I want illuminum light up kick plates and license plate and floor mats car cover but I mean sure don't feel like a great deal that 48 does not include that stuff.
Also she has good credit with a lot of credit history all payments on time, and she makes 6 figures.
Thanks

One last thing, I used to own a 3G Eclipse my drive way is of and people tend to scrape I didn't in my 3G if I came in at the correct angle ground clearance on that car was 5.8 what is the 17 NISMO? I don't want to scare a close to 50k car from my drive way lol that's all thanks, I apologise is this is hard to read in working and texting it via my phone.

At $68k a year living in (broadly) the bay area, i wouldn't be looking to buy a brand ******* new car at full price.

Save that money for a house, man, thats way more important and also much better investment.

Your 48k Z is gonna be worth far less than that in a year.

Factor in also you're gonna be paying insurance on a brand new car at . . . i'm sure age 20 something?

Don't get your girlfriend involved in this ****. You aren't married, the relationship can end anytime, and she makes more money than you, now u are in an awkward position.

Bottom line:
in your current situation, buy a reliable used car as a DD and save your damn money.

I didn't buy my Z until i had a house for a few years and made it to six figures at work
even then i bought used on my nismo to save around 25% off the new price

Agreed with Optionzero. Don't mean to be a d!ck but it doesn't sound like it would be financially responsible for you to get a nismo at this time. Keep saving and get your credit score up.

+1 on leave the girlfriend, and her credit, out of it.
The 14k down is so you don't end up owing more than the car is worth when you drive it off of the lot.
You have to leave emotion out of the showroom. If they don't want to dance to your tune, find a new partner. Nissan made a couple of thousand 17 Nismo's.
Another thing to look into: insurance on just my Nismo was going to be $2,100 per year. (I have 2 20 something boys living at home). My driving history is clean, and I had a 6 year relationship with that insurance company. My *former* insurance company.
My advice would be to wait 6 months and look around again.
Good luck, whatever you decide.

Okay, I understand what you are all saying, but I have very little expenses, as far as my gmfco signing I didn't ask her too plus she can be released once my credit is 700, and it will be, I've already been quoted $1,025 6 month premium, full coverage and cap and my current DD, I understand the house I get it but even though I want 84 months I plan to pay it off in two years so I only have two years of APR , depending on ml what my Apr is is, im 27 you only live once I have other assets, and a vending machine business, I can more then afford the payments in the car, I'll get a house when in 30,I appreciate your guys input

I would hold off, and wait, if you really want a nismo, buy used....
there is a lot of money involved with that and a 7 year loan... hmmmm....
just wait your time out and not get the red mist..

My 2 cents, the nismo is at bit pricey, considering other cars...

I bought beaters for a lot of years, keep them 2 years and through them away when the repairs were too much... (had some fun beaters)

Bought my 2012 in September 2011, and there are times to this day, I think I should have walked away, not from the car, but the deal I did.

Car is super and in black cherry, which I really wanted....

Also a bit older, kids are grown and gone, so I could afford it....

Good Luck on trying to figure out what to do...

Sometimes the truth hurts. Shop for a used Nismo.... You will pay little more than half the 48k you're about to spend.

Or, if you are going to mod the suspension, exhaust, etc... then get an earlier model sports package and have the Nismo body kit put on.

Livin in CA, you are paying a lot in taxes. Calculate what you ACTUALLY take home from your 68k. Then subract an estimate of vital expenses every month (rent, food, bills, etc).
You are going realize you only end up with like 25-30k if you're doing well. Do you really want to spend ALL your money from two years of working on a brand new Nismo? Then realize some of that money is going to go to other things like.. you know... going to a movie. Or buying stuff for your GF. Or Fuel. Or literally anything else you want to do. Do you really want to spend ALL of your savings from 3-4 years of working a brand new Nismo? This doesn't even figure how much interest you might pay for the car as well.

You can still have almost exactly what you want... just be smart about it.

i don't really give a f-ck how you feel. You asked for advice so you're getting it. If you don't want to hear it, don't post. If all you want is reassurance that your plan is awesome talk to a fuckin mirror.
To be honest your plan sounds pretty stupid when you can get a used nismo for at least $10k less. i mean really, nissan is ripping off everyone thats buying a new nismo these days. it's nearly a decade old chassis

and unless you love the 15+ kit you can get non-nismo for half the price of a new nismo

but again

throw emotion out of this

get a damn house first

Okay I did the math, after a month of all my expenses,im left with 2672, that is after taxes btw, so, I mean im great with my money in actually a total cheap skate, but I really wanted this car a long time and I k ow I can easily afford the payments....By if you guys think I should go with a touring... I'll do that.... But I don't think the 2017 get a nav pack now

Champagne on a beer budget is what my dad used to tell me. Buddy, 7yrs is not worth it. In all honesty a 7yr deal on a 17' Nismo is damned near loan sharking. You'd be way better off looking for an 09+ touring that someone is sick and tired of. You could have it paid for with what you're being asked for as a down payment and probably have a few bucks for some mods. Drive it for a minute find out what you want it to do and I guarantee you 100% within a year you could have a car that would crap on a bone stock 17' Nismo both in looks and performance. And if you're serious about it and have some discipline you could be boosted, suspended , body kitted , hooded and all the while have a title to your car ( Not the banks) in your file cabinet. Just sayin.

100% True. (BTW good to hear from ya Al)

I have less than 32k in my Z, which I bought with only 22k miles and only had 1 day to look for it because of circumstances. If you spent 48k+interest on your Nismo and then drove my car you would go to a gun store, wait through the holding period, and then off yourself.

HIZZY 04-14-2017 02:31 PM

here's what i did ....

1. bought a house

2. built my credit ... (currently 843)

3. saved money

4. bought my 17 NISMO - COMFORTABLY- (cant stress that enough)
do not blow all of your savings on a car.... you always need an emergency fund

I accept your apology for the voice-to-text. However, it is incomprehensible. This discussion can always continue once you get in front of a keyboard.
