Default New owner, never thought I would own a Z!

I recently sold a 2001 Mustang Bullitt with built DSS long block, Vortech supercharger, T56 Trans, built rear end, lowered with bilstiens, welded subframe connectors, etc. Total engine package produced around 500 hp and 470 lb. ft. of torque. This was my dream car I built over many years and it was a true high power touring rod. The care handled beautifully and with the six speed would get 24 mpg when traveling. After eight years of ownership I finally decided to let someone else enjoy the car. My wife never liked it anyway because it had that rawness to it and she could not drive it because of the heavy clutch.

So Saturday I picked up a new 09 370z silver touring w/sport package. This car is very impressive I never thought I would own one because I'm realy a fan of the C6 Corvette and really thought I would own one before the Z. The look of the Z really caught my eye though and when the opportunity came up to purchase the replacement for the Bullitt the Z won out. Not as powerfull as the vette but much more striking and with the auto w/paddle shifters is a total blast to drive. With the auto my wife can drive it too, which i'm not so sure is a good idea now that she has driven it and really likes it. I may have to get the Nismo exhaust and hope it irritates her like the Bullitt's did.

Welcome to the board and I am sure you will find this is the best place on the net to just kick your feet up and hang out. Lets see some pics of that Bullitt and its replacement.

Congrats and welcome. If you do half of the stuff to your car that I have done to mine, it'll pretty much guarantee that she stays far away from it. Haha..

Congrats...It takes a miracle to convert "V-8 domestic" gearheads to consider import, especially Japanese. It's not that you won't ever buy another domestic again in the future, but I usually thought V-8 guys saw it as taboo to drive import.

Yeah, C6 does have more balls, but it's also a V-8. Excellent choice.

You will find quickly that off the lot the 370Z is much more refined than the Mustang or Vette can ever be. The Z is made for a balance of power with handling and ride quality. The Mustangs just don't have that (I've owned 6) and the Vettes just approximate it. Bottom line is the Mustang and Vette are raw muscle cars and the 370Z is just plain refined.

Enjoy it....it is worth the trade off you made...
