Hey all,

I recently acquired a 2016 gunmetal grey base model after trading in my evo x. This is both my first manual and first RWD vehicle ever, so we will see how this goes closer to winter. Should be an adventure either way.

My last cars were:
2007 Pontiac g5 (had it until August 2013)
2013 Dodge Charger SXT (had it for <6 months, traded for evo)
2014 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X MR (had for a year and a half) (modified)
2015 Mazda CX-5 GT (had it for 8 months during time I had my evo)

The charger was a turd. Settled for that instead of buying the evo off the bat out of college. The reason I traded the evo in was because whatever car I was left with was going to be my DD, and if any of you have driven it...all of its rattles and squeaks are fairly annoying at best, although it is extremely fun to mod.

I'm not sure where I'll go with the Z wrt modifications, but we'll see. Look forward to talking to you all!

Welcome and congrats on that beautiful new Z! I've driven by Morgantown many times (from Kentucky so visits back take us by Morgantown). My best advice is to start shopping for tires & get that front bumper covered with Xpel ASAP!!

Rob,

That's awesome, too! That black is beautiful. I swore I wouldn't get one after the charger, but still got a black evo. It's way too much work to keep it clean on these roads. Where abouts do you live? Half hour would put you in..Smithfield/Uniontown?

Hula,
Thanks for the advice, I hadn't even heard of Xpel before. I'll have to look into it. Do you DD yours in the winter? The logic in my head, which isn't right, is that if I DD'd my evo with summer tires in the winter that the 370 with winter tires should be fine, but I'm a little concerned about the open diff on mine (base model). Last winter sucked for us.

I only picked my car up on Memorial Day of this year. It's my DD. Shopping for tires now. I work with my husband so on the worst days I just won't move the car. I will ride in to work with him or work out of my home office.
Folks here will encourage you to have 2 sets of tires, winter and summer. I'm going for AS tires since I have a flexible work situation.
Regarding the Xpel, I had my front bumper covered yesterday and I'm sorry I didn't do it sooner.
Here's the Xpel authorized dealers but unfortunately there's no one in WV. A quick phone asking if there is anyone now and maybe the list has not been updated is where I would start. http://locator.xpel.com/search/clear.../United_States

Right, I had two sets for my old car. I like the stock base wheels enough that I would use those as my winters and not be disappointed really, plus they're nice and small 18".

Thanks for that link, I'm only about an hour away from Pittsburgh, and there is one there, so I could just go there, too.

Congrats on your new purchase, although I hope you keep the Z much longer than you did the other cars

Nomodsjk: I am actually out there at least once a month, since I have to go to Frederick that often at least, plus have some friends in the area around Charles Town. You guys have any fun tracks out that way (but toward the east)? I have nothing here at all.

Littlejuanito: Thanks! To be fair though, the charger was a mistake and the cx-5 i would have kept except from having to downgrade jobs from a massive pay one to a normal one. I have no regrets about the CX-5 or evo...maybe only about the illusion that it would be comfortable to dd an evo. To be fair, I think I'll miss the turbo, but that problem will be solved eventually :P

.
Masontown area. I actually have a big storage unit for my company up in Motown. Up there a lot & I ran the car lot on the big hill as you go up the hill over the Westover bridge on that sharp corner across from the huge church for 8 years. I will give you fair warning as I won't be bring my Z up the Point Marion road anytime soon. It is falling apart once you cross into WV. PA repaved their side but WV hasn't bothered and there is pot holes that will swallow trucks!

RobV,

To be fair, that is Morgantown as a whole. I'm not entirely sure it is even worth me getting a lip, lol.

Thanks, Memphis! Got ya some pics of my evo, then my new toy.
