With what happened this week during the vote and knowing who cast the deciding vote... That idea stirs my thoughts, 6spd. Maybe the Maester knows or at least suspects?

Yeah, great point Patrick!

So does anyone subscribe to the theory that Dany is actually going to become the bad guy of the story? I've been reading about it, but IDK, I still think Jon is secretly a Targaryean, or however you spell that, and he and Dany will end up crossing paths at their heights of power.

I think she's still learning how to rule and I think we're finding out that her doing the right thing isn't always the smart thing to do. It's practice for how she should rule when/if she reclaims the Iron Throne. There are several theories about Jon's mother. A prominent one being

that his mother is actually Ned Stark's sister, Lyanna who had an affair with Prince Rhaegar (Dany's long dead older brother). All speculative of course and no one really knows except GRRM.

I will put my money on this theory. Mostly from what I gleaned from this interview: “Game of Thrones” Creators Talk About Show’s Beginnings, Possible End | Variety

The High Sparrow...what a great episode. The show is definitely setting itself apart from the books, but keeping the core characters and events for a more focused story. That is definitely a good thing as A Dance With Dragons is a bit meandering.

Did anyone enjoy the Brienne and Podrick scene as much as I did?

It is interesting that in the show, Brienne is following Sansa to where Stannis will eventually be.

Big spoiler alert

In the books, Ramsey claims that Stannis has been killed. I wonder if that could happen, but at the hands of Brienne?

It is pretty insane how quickly this season is moving and how much they have buzzsawed off from the story in the books. Anyone else enjoying it as much as I am?

For sure. This week's was awesome

There hasn't been as much action in the first part of this season but I have a feeling there is plenty to come shortly!

If things played out they way they did in the books, they would still be introducing characters and maybe be starting on some meandering journeys.

Two things have impressed me about this season:

- Brienne is a badass
- They dragons are more prominent and have been doing more in the show

That scene at the end of this week's episode was awesome with the dragon flying overhead. Not to mention the city they were passing through on the boat. That was just awesome.

yeah, this week's, not so much :(

firulice 05-18-2015 09:59 PM

I thought the episode was great till the disturbing ending lol

The exchange between Tyrion and Jorah was a good one. And it seems like King's Landing is quickly becoming pretty destabilized. King Tommen looks like such a tool right now.
