Looks like maybe those two black screws hold the HID casing in place which would give E/W what he needs.

weiboy718 10-11-2012 07:58 PM

Or this?

http://i50.tinypic.com/9tmio1.jpg

dmhenderson 10-11-2012 07:59 PM

Yeah that's the thing he wants. His snapped in half.

dmhenderson 10-11-2012 07:59 PM

Sucks though because it means E/W is gonna have to crack his headlights again. Feelin' lucky?

weiboy718 10-11-2012 08:00 PM

he can have it!

wait? what do you mean crack his headlights again?

dmhenderson 10-11-2012 08:01 PM

I think the troll is that we're going to convince him to crack his headlights open again and they're going to melt into goo.

If it's just to install that clip for the HID bulb he can get it in through the headlight bulb cover. He will need a small angle wrench with a phillips to loosen and tighten up

dmhenderson 10-11-2012 08:05 PM

Yeah that's precisely the part he needs. Oh right you can just go through the back of the housing to get at the bulbs. He should be good to go.

wait up, let me load up a video to remove and install that clip for ya'll

dmhenderson 10-11-2012 08:10 PM

I don't think he'll need it. We figured out the jenga puzzle/ballast last time around.

Sorry for trolling again lol.

Are you talking about this clip or the whole projector housing?

http://i47.tinypic.com/fp8g9e.jpg

I'd actually like to take the whole piece, it looks like the two screws hold it in place. I dont think the "U" hook metal piece is what I need, I need the actual piece that retains the "U" hook.

Alright, cool. If he do need the clip he really can have it.

Yeah, it looks pretty easy to swap out, without having to open the headlight, remember to get to this area, you take off the plastic cover in the back, turning it counter clockwise. Really simple.

eastwest2300 10-11-2012 08:14 PM

I believe its the drivers side.

dmhenderson 10-11-2012 08:14 PM

with the ballast ATTACHED haha

weiboy718 10-11-2012 08:17 PM

Awww, sucks cuz I have the passenger side.

You do need to open up the housing in order to swap that part because it's part of the projector.

Wait up, let me take a few pic's for you to see!

eastwest2300 10-11-2012 08:18 PM

Wouldnt the passenger and the drivers side be the same, I would think so.

weiboy718 10-11-2012 08:25 PM

Negative, the studs holding onto the projector bracket has L and R orientation.

Look at this pic, you notice where the "U" hook is snapped under the metal housing, it holds the light in place, that little tab (theres 2, one for each side of the "U" hook.) That tab snapped off, thats what Im trying to replace.

weiboy718 10-11-2012 08:46 PM

This???

weiboy718 10-11-2012 08:53 PM

Nevermind! I know what you're talking about now.

eastwest2300 10-11-2012 08:54 PM

Yeah, that is part of the projector. You will need to replace the whole thing. Confirm which side for sure, I have no use for it and I can give it to your for free.

dmhenderson 10-11-2012 09:12 PM

All's well etc

weiboy718 10-11-2012 09:13 PM

Ahh dude that would be badass.. Im on vacation right now, I wont be back in DC until the 21st. I'll let you know as soon as I know.

eastwest2300 10-11-2012 09:20 PM

Damn dude, its an entire piece, fuuuuuuck.:facepalm::facepalm:

weiboy718 10-11-2012 09:35 PM

It's not too bad as long as you have the part.

eastwest2300 10-11-2012 09:37 PM

So im guessing to get this piece out, I will have to completely disassemble the headlight, no way around it.

weiboy718 10-11-2012 09:42 PM

yes unfortunately! after disassemble you'll need to unscrew both adjustment bolt and a clip to remove the projector. shouldn't be hard though.

dmhenderson 10-11-2012 10:02 PM

yeah to get the entire projector out, you'll have to...bake it again.
