I can always give away one of my "brings" - just took both because i want vodka for sure and can bring good wings.

If we get enough people to volunteer I'll give one away. Esp if we're capping this at 8 people.

Remember the Rubber Butyl (sealant) It looks like a tube of caulk, you need a caulking gun to use it.

Hey guys I was at a meet tonight and talked with some folks who have done this already and are in the autobody industry. Im not going to lie. I think I may wait for my paint job. The paint needs around 12 hours of air drying time for all moisture to evaporate. If you dont wait you run a serious risk of of having sealing issues or moisture in your light. Do you guys plan on leaving them sit for 6-8 once we have them apart and painted? Because I would be okay with that. I think regardless I am going down to atleast meet you all and help out I just dont know if it is my time yet.lol I can bring soda and water

my tip is to not cake on the paint, paint enough to cover what needs to be covered and thats it. The more you paint the longer it'll take to dry but light coats to cover your bases you'll be fine. IF you put it back together while its still wet, yes the paint will dry and evaporate to the inner side of your lens and I know exactly what this looks like. It really isn't that bad but you can tell your lens is not 100% clear like it was from factory. If it's a nice sunny day, there won't be an issue with the paint drying quickly. If it's rainy and humid.. I would suggest heat lamp and letting it dry indoor maybe

We should have everything we need as long as people bring everything that they said they were gonna bring. We should be good to go. That heat gun is gonna make life sooo much easier.

Yeah I was amazed at how quickly it zapped my front emblem off on my '09. You have to be super careful though. It will melt paint/plastic/your face if you aren't good with it.

Isn't a heat gun quicker/safer? Our Service guy doesn't want to give it to me for 2 weekends in a row but I can buy one for like $15.00 so it's not a big deal. I'd be willing to invest in a heat gun - I'm sure I'll need it again in the future.
Actually the opposite. The oven method is much quicker and safer for the headlights. The oven allows you to heat the whole headlight at once vs doing it one small spot at a time. Also you can control the temperature better and are less likely to spot burn or melt the lens.

I got 40 bumper rivets coming, so anyone loses any, they can be replaced. That'll be my contribution.. Fellas, if any of yall can bring a heat gun, or your lady's hair dryer, bring them if you can, so we can quicken the paint drying process.
