Dude, I forget the name of the shop, he does work on the side.. I've never paid the shop, I've only paid him directly.

Where is it located? Always nice to know where some good shops are.

The place I got my tail lights done is the same place Bert got all the work done on his Z.

eastwest2300 02-18-2013 04:12 PM

I can tell you this, when they're done, if you compare yours to mine....there's gonna be a HUGE difference... mark my words.

It's sloooowly coming together

Alcantara shift boot and armrest cover (PITA to wrap and glue... if I could do it again I could do a better job I think)

https://sphotos-a.xx.fbcdn.net/hphot...86509233_n.jpg

https://sphotos-a.xx.fbcdn.net/hphot...02921559_n.jpg

Still have to replace the rest of the center console leather with Alcantara but haven't gotten around to it yet. The door cars are still a few weeks out.

Work will start on the convertible top inner liner (ultrasuede) in a few weeks.

eastwest2300 02-19-2013 05:30 PM

Very nice sir.

chieuxuan 02-19-2013 05:47 PM

Steve, do the shift boot again and give me the one pictured

aniceh 02-19-2013 06:59 PM

Hot!!!

eastwest2300 02-19-2013 07:29 PM

I wonder if you can use hog rings to tighten that material down for a really nice snug fit? hmm.

What are hog rings?

m4a1mustang 02-19-2013 07:38 PM

The tight fit is just glue and cutting the fabric correctly for the corners. I got a little impatient in areas. And I don't think alcantara stretches and conforms to corners as well as soft leather does, so it was a bit of a challenge for the first time.

Its what holds your seat material in place.. sort of. Basically.

Hog rings and metal rods woulda tightened it down.

b1adesofcha0s 02-19-2013 07:44 PM

Waiting on the converter yet. Then I'll mod my case.

I'm surprised they haven't made a proper case that fits the cable without drilling, yet...

If it's raining tomorrow morning I probably won't be in Columbia. Will see you guys at GB if that's the case.

MightyBobo 02-22-2013 09:34 PM

Got all of my remote mic gear (the USB converter cable, and 16' extension was all I was missing). Maybe I'll muck with it tomorrow and get it working for a test, but I doubt it - weather is looking better for Sunday.
