Anyone here know anything about GoPro cameras? I want one for the spring but I dunno which one I should get. There seem to be a bunch of them and I need one that mounts on my Ptuning bracket.

m4a1mustang 02-22-2013 09:46 PM

I think we all have a GoPro or two or three. :p

I'd go for the newest one (Hero 3). Black edition.

You coming to the Gordon Biersch meet? I can bring my Hero3 Black if you'd like to see it in person.

But, as Steve said, that's the one to go with.

Would need to see this bracket to determine what mount you would need, though...

Most have the Go Pro and a couple of us have the Contour Roam. Kirkster on here also has a different camera (can't remember the manufacturer). You'll find a variety of other cameras now coming online for similar recording with most using the suction mounts but the Go Pros as well as the Contour Roams have some other mounting options for motorcycle handlebars and things like that. Other 3rd party vendors have mounting solutions out there as well.

I did come across a mounting option for mounting a Go Pro using the tow hook:

Rennline GoPro Camera Tow Hook Mount-Rennline, Inc.

There are like 6 different Go Pro cameras. The tow hook I have already has a mounting bracket for it. I was more interested in which Go Pro I should get.
There are a bunch of them and I'm not sure which one people get for cars.

rAiN 02-23-2013 08:35 AM

i guess ill join next week, since my rear tires are showing wires from negative camber...

dmhenderson 02-23-2013 09:53 AM

I won't be at either. The Z is at D&V. They were supposed to have it ready by this morning but the guy at Figure Finishing didn't drop off my wheel last night like he promised.

See you in two weeks. Hopefully I'll have my dual halos done by then.

eastwest2300 02-23-2013 10:08 AM

That sucks man, sorry to hear that.

Oh hahaha, I thought you were talking about the Gordon Biersch meet, not Columbia. My bad, wasn't planning on going to Columbia today in the first place...

Okay, my misunderstanding then. Go with the one Steve is recommending then. :)

Also, there's only 3 out there now, assuming you are talking current-gen. Black, White, and Silver.

I put it almost directly above the left exhaust pipe. There isnt quite enough meat in the middle of the car to properly mount it, sadly.

chieuxuan 02-23-2013 04:54 PM

sounds nice with less wind noise :tiphat:
