Per tire?

m4a1mustang 02-08-2013 11:39 AM

I still have:

Brakes (not really a mod since they need to be replaced)
Wheels/Tires
Ongoing interior project
Coilovers
Hardttop?!?!

b1adesofcha0s 02-08-2013 11:41 AM

After I get the PSS this month, I'm pretty much done. I might get an Uprev tune if I can get a new job soon.

I do :rofl2:

I'm lucky to have a girl that would rather have a turbo upgrade than diamonds. :roflpuke2:

dmhenderson 02-08-2013 12:18 PM

I'm going to leave it NA. I did a little digging and there's a TON of work that needs to be done to convert a NA car to turbo and do it right.

It's definitely a lot of work and money, and nothing I'd want to do on a daily driver.

That's why I'm just gonna get a different car instead of going that route. More reliable option as well. Also, I want an MT next for sure.

A turbo'd s2000 is nasty... ohh yeah:driving:

Masa 02-08-2013 12:25 PM

throw enough money at any car and it can be "nasty"

b1adesofcha0s 02-08-2013 12:27 PM

Or just throw mud at it for a more cost effective alternative :rofl2:

A turbo'd S2000 is notbad.jpg. They are still mad peaky, though. I've got no intention to turbo mine... not worth it.

eastwest2300 02-08-2013 12:31 PM

man, to be honest with you, I've talked to Doug from P_tuning about doing mine.

m4a1mustang 02-08-2013 12:37 PM

They have a nice kit that can actually get you a nice (for an S2000) torque curve.

eastwest2300 02-08-2013 12:38 PM

Yeah, Its definitely on the radar.. we'll see, nothing set in stone yet.

This is literally the only thing about the R35 that gives me heartburn

That's why I could never buy one. I have to have three pedals and a stick shift.

dmhenderson 02-08-2013 12:41 PM

Does the R-35 at least come stock with paddle shifters? The one I sat in didn't seem to have them.

m4a1mustang 02-08-2013 12:42 PM

Yeah I'm pretty sure they all have paddles.

b1adesofcha0s 02-08-2013 12:43 PM

Yeah they all have paddle shifters. The paddle shifters are exactly the same ones as in the Z

That's one thing I don't like about it either. You pay upwards of $100k and it's still a Nissan inside. There are some parts bin bits here and there.

My fiancee even drives a MT. :rofl2:

b1adesofcha0s 02-08-2013 12:55 PM

I can drive a manual, just waiting for the right time to sell my car and buy a new one. Ask Steve how many times I was thinking about selling my car. Decided it would be best to wait until the new 5.0 and C7 come out.

b1adesofcha0s 02-08-2013 12:56 PM

It was actually Rob who taught me after a Columbia meet one day in his Z

nope, i dont think so buddy, you're not fvcking up my clutch.

dmhenderson 02-08-2013 01:06 PM

Fun story about me and manual transmissions: I learned to drive on a MT but didn't drive one at all after that. Went through years of driving only AT cars. Friends and my ex-fiance made me drive stick now and then because they thought it was funny. Lots of stalls etc.

Cut to 2009 and I decide to buy a Z and basically said "yeah no, not doing AT, we're going to learn MT right here and now".

Took delivery of the car and the sales guy hopped in to take it to the gas station with me to fill it up. The gas station was about 2 blocks from the dealership. I start to get in the passenger's seat and the guy goes "no wait, what? This is your car, you drive"...

Sooooo after the 3rd time I stalled it on the way to the station, the sales guy does a really slooooow turn from the passenger seat to stare at me at which point I go "GOD I'M SORRY" and he goes "uh, no buddy. It's your car. You don't need to apologize".

For a while I would avoid roads which involved stopping on steep inclines at lights because I was afraid I would roll backwards into someone. I vividly remember waving people around me once or twice.

Then I got the hang of it and everything was fine

That is until I melted the entire clutch assembly into slag by 9k miles http://www.the370z.com/members/dmhen...7-gf-frank.gif

Nissan replaced it free of charge (clutch, flywheel, everything) because there was "just no way that could have been due to abuse at only 9k miles"

m4a1mustang 02-08-2013 01:09 PM

That's funny. When we went to buy my 2003 Mustang GT I couldn't drive stick. We bought the car and the salesman dropped me off in an empty parking lot. My dad followed so he could take the salesman back.

About 20 minutes later my dad gets back and the first thing I said to him was "I can get to 70 in the parking lot!" He facepalmed and followed me home.
