Anyone interested in modified / custom colored kick plates?

I made a thread:

I would do kwv3 on the s2k but its overkill for what I need right now. Going with Bilstein PSS9. Should be great for DD work.

Do you really need coil overs for the s2000? I mean it handles really well as it is.

:shakes head: whatever makes you happy buddy... hahaha. here's a question for you, if I were to get a tune, and add an oil cooler at a later time, would I have to get it retuned? I wouldnt think so, but Im not sure.

m4a1mustang 02-14-2013 09:00 AM

No need for a re-tune.

And believe it or not the S2000's suspension can be improved. It's good stock but it's not great. And mine is up there in mileage so getting some fresh dampers in there is going to be nice.

As with anything, though, you've gotta do it right. It's so easy to screw up suspension and there are just too many newbs out there that think they're making something better but in reality they're screwing it up. :icon17:

Absolutely not. The only mods that require a tune are mods that mess with air flow and fuel consumption and even then, usually only if you stack them.

dmhenderson 02-14-2013 09:20 AM

Also D, if you're not going to track the car - you will get absolutely nothing out of an oil cooler.

m4a1mustang 02-14-2013 09:20 AM

Well, he might. On the street, in the summer, you can get the car to overheat pretty easily with some spirited driving.

But this is Dee we're talking about... no spirited driving. :bowrofl:

dmhenderson 02-14-2013 09:22 AM

I dunno. I never ever overheated my 09' base and never invested in an oil cooler. Even driving like a maniac, I've never gotten the '12 nismo over 220

m4a1mustang 02-14-2013 09:26 AM

Well the 2012+ have a factory cooler (not the aftermarket air type).

I definitely got 250+ multiple times in my 2009. Just have to wring it out. Dan got his into limp mode last time he had his Z at the Dragon. I came very close.

m4a1mustang 02-14-2013 09:30 AM

Anyways, I can say with confidence, Dee don't need no stinkin' oil cooler. :icon17: :icon17:

Who said 2012+ have factory oil cooler? If so, I wouldn't invest a 34 row cooler in mine

eastwest2300 02-14-2013 09:49 AM

Steve, you wanna work collectively on lubing the chasis? Im sure your Honda could use it as well.

eastwest2300 02-14-2013 09:50 AM

The service manual says to do it once a year. And I have a grease gun, they recommend Honda White Lithium grease, Im not sure where we can get that besides the Honda stealership.

eastwest2300 02-14-2013 09:52 AM

I found that lithium grease on ebay..

chieuxuan 02-14-2013 09:54 AM

D, you can pm Jomer for those white grease

m4a1mustang 02-14-2013 09:55 AM

I can get some white grease real quick... :|

eastwest2300 02-14-2013 09:55 AM

eastwest2300 02-14-2013 10:09 AM

You'd be surprised how many people dont get their vehicle's chasis serviced, i will not be one of them.

m4a1mustang 02-14-2013 10:10 AM

I service my chassis by getting a new vehicle.

m4a1mustang 02-14-2013 10:15 AM

I wish I had some laser scanning equipment and a CNC mill, though. I'd make copies of the oem control arms.

Yeah I was surprised that you were still affected by my wake of air even though I was a mile up the road. :bowrofl:

The mustang is very big. While the driver's section was a mile up the road, your rear bumper was right in front of me.

eastwest2300 02-14-2013 10:45 AM

I bought 2 tubes of that Lithium Grease on amazon. If I get it in a few days, I'll do this job hopefully on Monday. I still gotta pull out the tail lights in the Z, and have my new tail lights worked on... Lots of maintenance coming up, i love it!

m4a1mustang 02-14-2013 10:46 AM

have fun with that lube bro
