Well, Im sure you know almost none of this applies to drag strip characteristics.

AutoX...its applicable in a minor way at best, since the runs are so short, your tires arent truly running hot in the first place.

Pretty amazing how much they can change after a hot lap or two on a track, however...

o turst me i know.. all tires react different once you get heat in them... but for what this discussion that is exactly what iv been saying..

the difference between the pss and the pzero will be hard to tell the difference.. there is not a vast difference.. is the pss a better tire..YES.. but its not vastly superior to the point where the average guy will tell the difference.. and not for anything it doesnt look like to many of these people are serious track racers.. more just weeken warriors like most of us.. who like to go and have some fun from time to time....

i noticed the difference from the passenger seat, but it also may have been the fact that steve is an extremely skilled driver :|

I bet it's filled out nicely, not much wiggle room in there.

im the same way.. and i dont let someone tell me something is the best i have to see that it is.. i dont jump on the bandwagon.. i prefer to test myself and make my own decision..

that is the reason why i stick with pirelli.. for me i have never had a problem with them and they work great for me.. until the day comes that pirelli lets me down i will run them..

:icon18: if you can tell the difference from the pasanger seat of someone elses car then you need to get a job being a tire tester.. because clearly you have a gift..:bowrofl:

you can do things that pros cant even do...:stirthepot:

i recommend trying the PSS then. For heavier cars that are mostly used on the road, it is the best performance choice. Re11 for the track.

and steve, STAR SPECS for light cars

certain characteristics are actually to judge from the passenger seat.

Driving instruction would be almost impossible if you couldn't judge grip/breakaway from the passenger seat.

yes driving instruction from the pasanger seat.. but not testing tires from the passanger seat... can u feel certain thing and be able to instruct.. sure.. but a lot of it comes from the instructor knowing the track and where to brake accelorate etc,..

noone test tires from the passanger seat.. that a first hand experiance to be able to fully tell whats going on..

sure, but I can absolutely tell you how a tire compares from the passenger seat. Again, you get a better idea of certain characteristics when you aren't driving.

Driving instruction would be impossible if you couldn't get an idea of grip limits, audio feedback, etc.

I've driven on both tires, and can 100% tell you that anyone that thinks the Pzero compares to PSS doesn't know what they are talking about.

I guess I should add that I have Pirellis on my S2000 right now. Sottozero Serie II winters. Have them on the ST too.

And, we might get some snow to test them out in tomorrow!

i have never had pirelli snow tires. are the as good as blizacs?

m4a1mustang 01-16-2013 03:57 PM

Probably not as good as Blizzaks in deeper snow, but on cold dry pavement they should be much better. In the dry they are every bit as good as the Dunlop Wintersport M3s I had on my Mustang (that Dan now has on his!). I'm expecting them to be similar in the snow.

it warmed up so fast though whenever i went to work roads had no snow. little bit of plowing and salt and they melted fast. when i passed out at 4-ish it was still snowing and none touched the roads yet too.
