Out of the box. The OSG is a 1.5 way and starts out about 70% lock up. you have to use the OSG gear lube too. Otherwise it's noisy.

I agree with Phunk. There are mechanical stops on the VVEL actuator shaft, so even if the servo motor went crazy and adjusted the valve timing incorrectly due to sensor input being wrong, there...
