Nope.......just wrapped the empty plugs in plastic to prevent water getting in. I also bought gutter leaf guard at the big box store, (it's steel dipped in plastic, still looks good after years) to dress the empty holes. ( Cut to shape, and Installed from behind the facia with JB Weld. )

Damn thing is addicting once you can go for longer than a quarter mile without feeling like you're unstable. Very relaxing to just cruise around. I avg around 6-8mph which is plenty quick enough...
