Run it without the shims and don't give it a second thought. The only shims I ever use on my Z are 1mm Ti. heat shields in the front.

I left mine off after the first pad change and don't notice it. Then again, I am deaf (according to my wife at least).

At those speeds, you might just want to invest in some better tires. I’ve been on the track at 140+ with the stock Sport trim and had no issues.
