Yea I would keep them in there to keep the mud, dirt, and rocks out of those areas. Possibly trim or heat gun them like scorp38 says

Take a heat gun and heat up the areas they rub then push them in. This is the best way to do it.

get some new pads ASAP. once you get faster, those stock pads will melt in a few laps. also, id keep the oil temps under 260. 270 is pretty high!

I can see you're serious about your track-work, so you need to invest in a proper race seat with head side restraints. At the very least you need to be using a 5 point harness and probably a HANS...
