I think I'm going to put this on the list of "stuff I'd like to do eventually but not right now".

Still need to upgrade the clutch and tires before I do *anything* else (and I mean anything).

Yeah, get the setup you've got on there now dialed in before you go hunting for more power.

dmhenderson 08-19-2013 12:49 PM

What about bumping up to GT-R spark plugs? I have seen a lot of folks do that in FI builds. I mean, I can't see WHY it'd make a difference but a lot of people do it so maybe I'm missing something.

Are you on OEM plugs? The GTR plugs are 1 step colder, and a lot cheaper than the HKS plugs GTM recommends. That's about it. They're not really going to add any power. If you're still on the stock plugs, go ahead and switch them out.

i think you are correct!!!! when i tune my 2005 Sti i use 850cc with meth and 91oct and we reach the 475whp but the injectors are in 95%... my tuner tells me that if i change the injectors for a 1200cc we can run 500whp with any problem!!! so i dont know much about the SC but i think its almost the same that a turbo in that way!

:tiphat:

I know I am I just try to be civil on here Thank you though. Im sure the extra confirmation will help prove my point :bowrofl:

Yeah on your sti 1000-1200 will get you to 500whp @ roughly 80% duty cycle which is awesome.

Mark, it is worth it to go to the GTR plugs like Chuck has mentioned. They are 1 step colder.

Unless they came with the SC kit, I'm still on stock plugs.

They don't come with the kit.

Likely the last update for a bit:
-Sam/GTM and Uprev are working to unlock the tune. Sam said it shouldn't be locked but for some reason, the tuner was unable to modify it. They hope to have the issue figured out today.

-Sam also said the tune they gave me was "very conservative" and that there was a lot of room for more power.

-Motordyne ART pipes are somewhere in the air over california right now.

Hoping to get everything squared away the week of 9/2 (labor day).

Odd behavior (and this may just be me not knowing boosted cars):
Pulling hard in 2nd and got a little too close to redline and near peak I had a sudden and almost complete loss of power. Shifted into 3rd and was fine. What gives?

Did you hit fuel cut?

dmhenderson 08-22-2013 11:38 AM

Talked to two people now and confirmed its very likely fuel starvation/running too lean ( but I already knew that)

It is throttle cut.(throttle blades close b/c of the ecu Uprev can change the rpm when this happens no biggie)

carlitos_370z 08-22-2013 12:12 PM
