That is not the point, it was just to poke Baer.
Your build needs to be a staple for people to follow on being cautious but goal oriented and planning. I see to many builds with people going, I want X horsepower but have no plan or idea what to do.

Stock internals (currently). I'm not going to push it above 500 for that reason. I'll see where it ends up once the tune is tweaked but I'm hoping to land at about 475-480whp and 380 tq.

Man those are great numbers for be in stock internals bro!!! i hope everything runs ok!!! i hope some day install an SC thats the reason of my questions!!!

This has been a very cautious build. If you are interested in going the SC route, it's worth a read.

Please let me know if you have questions and ill do my best to answer.

RE: E-85, what do I need to run it? I was operating under the assumption that it was much more expensive than 93 octane and apparently I was way off.

It's like $3.00 p/g

1) Can I run it without a return system?
2) Assuming the cats are off the car, what are the drawbacks? Why wouldn't I drive around on E-85 all the time?

theDreamer 08-19-2013 11:54 AM

The cost per gallon many times is cheaper but you have to factor in cost per mile also. E85 burns more so you will lower your MPG and in the end might not really save any money on a daily basis.

The pluses are it can run cooler and provide easier HP compared to pushing 93 or higher octane. I believe for moderate boosted 370z you need the proper injector size and fuel pump to match on this car.

Chuck33079 08-19-2013 11:56 AM

Depending on the size of the injectors you just put in, you may be ok or you may need even bigger ones. Your mileage will suffer, and that will negate any savings from the lower price per gallon. Availability can be an issue. Also, you can't really switch back and forth between 93 and E85, since the little bit of gas left in the tank will throw off the mix.

dmhenderson 08-19-2013 11:56 AM

I have bosch 645cc injectors and uh... A Walbro 255lph fuel pump I think.

dmhenderson 08-19-2013 11:56 AM

Any danger to the car? What are the risks without running a return system?

Chuck33079 08-19-2013 11:58 AM

There's no danger to the car from running E85. The only issue would be if the additional power ended up being too much for the stock motor.

dmhenderson 08-19-2013 12:00 PM

Ok let me rephrase then: What are the benefits of a return system assuming I have an E85 tune on the car?

For a really good answer I'd reach out to Phunk. He seems to be the guy for fuel systems. I stopped researching the fuel return when everything I found made it seem like it was unnecessary under 600whp or so.

Based my fuel system off of his recommendation.

Glad you posted on here Mark. Responding via Facebook mobile on my phone takes forever.lol

645cc is TOO small. Use that fuel calculator I sent you. To run your injectors at a safe duty cycle for 500whp 1000cc is recommended. I know many people will say my statement is false but talk to Phunk he will tell you the same. Everyone thinks my fuel build is overkill size wise but it isn't for E85.

Flow Calculator

i think you are correct!!!! when i tune my 2005 Sti i use 850cc with meth and 91oct and we reach the 475whp but the injectors are in 95%... my tuner tells me that if i change the injectors for a 1200cc we can run 500whp with any problem!!! so i dont know much about the SC but i think its almost the same that a turbo in that way!
