Thanks man,

I actually own my own business specializing in EFI Live (Xtreme FX Tuning) and custom tuning them. Its my second Dmax, the first one was an 01 that I used to drag race and had a few mods done to that (built trans, lift pump, efi live). It ran 13s in the 1/4 mile. I since bought a 07 LBZ and have kept it stock minus a tune just so that I would not have to worry about it being reliable.

They are an awesome truck!

I have an 09 with a dpf delete, 5" exhaust, AFE intake and a PPE tuner. Hook it up with a tune! ;)

Sorry just seeing this now. If you are serious I can tune it much better than that PPE you currently run. I have had many customers come to me with the PPE's and never look back.

Typically most of my customers go with a 5 stage tune that you can switch between the on fly (no more flashing to switch tunes) with the following tunes;

Stock
Tow with exhaust brake 25hp
45hp ecnomy
75hp daily
90hp street.

Keep in mind PPE's numbers are grossly inflated. They are all custom setups so I can tweak them and change the power around anyway you like. If you are interested just shoot me a PM.

I took my Z out for a little burn last night with the Mrs. in her beemer. Just couldnt resist the dry roads. I have not put on my rims yet as I am going to wait till the roads clear up a little more.

Dont worry mark, its supposed to snow on thursday and get cold again. That should put a damper on that itch of wanting to take it out.

Mitco39 03-20-2014 03:24 PM

I dont think I ever posted these pics up, this was from last fall.

That is not problem, I know a true expert when it comes to those engines, so a rebuild would be a cake walk :).

I have also built about a dozen of those manifolds for him.

All weekend but we managed to fit 370Z wheels under an RX7. She sits a tad high but can launch like crazy. Once she burns off the tires were going to lower the profile on the tires to bring the car back down a bit. Its definitely aggressive. I also put on my rims this weekend :).

Its a tad tall, but aside from that the fitment is almost perfect in terms of being flush with the body. Lower profile tires will fix all that. But i'm kinda thinking we'll just leave it as is till the tires are shot.

It was a nightmare to change over tho. You need to use the Nissan lug nuts on those wheels, and Nissan has a different thread pitch on their studs. So we actually ended up finding some 280zx studs at canadian tire and swapped out all the Mazda studs with the nissan studs.

oh and to get the rear studs off your supposed to pull the rear hub assemblies apart. I "engineered" it to get around that however. It turned out to be a 18 hour job by the end of the whole mess. But it works!

We'll see how it goes

Boosted Performance 04-07-2014 10:05 AM

That's a lot of work for a wheel swap.

BrooklynBully 04-07-2014 10:11 AM

18 hour job..... for wheels...

Yeah it was one of those jobs that once you realized how much work it was going to take it was to long to turn around and stop what you started.

It was a good weekend of wrenching on the cars tho :) I really wouldn't have wanted to spend it any other way.

Awesome build man.

How do you compare the 370z to the rx7 in terms of enjoyability?
I've been thinking for a while to sell my z to get an rx7. My dream car :P

Thanks man,

They are really in 2 different classes. The RX is an awesome fun car to drive, but its not one that you really want to take on long road trips. The Z is also fun to drive and take on long trips.

The RX is nice, but id never trade the luxury you get while your in the Z. As nice as it is you will miss the interior of the Z. The RX is a very raw car when compared to the Z.

Both are amazing tho in their own ways!

Do you have a build thread for your RX? I was checking their forum and they seem to bash VQ engine saying it's "meh"

Mitco39 04-08-2014 09:58 AM

Its actually the Mrs. car that she built herself. I dont think she ever took the time to put together any sort of build thread for it. It is almost completely stock, its got a Apexi Power FC, and coils. It is a very nice car.

Its a great shifter, minus the rattle I still have to track down. I think its a product of keeping my stock knob. I just dont like any of the looks of any of the other shift knobs out there. The stock one is just comfy and otherwise perfect. I also got you started on Plasti-Dip I hear .

This is what the garage currently looks like as we wait for yet another damn snowfall to melt and for it to get nice out yet again.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...ps1b6d7a77.jpg

It does feel nice having both cars back home after storage, thats for sure. We just need more room. Between the both of us we have 4 vehicles and only a 2 bay garage. That'll have to change next year i'm thinking.

wheee! 04-17-2014 09:16 AM

I am currently looking at garage options myself....

Plasmite 04-17-2014 09:17 AM

I probably can't even open my doors in my garage. Just bought a new house in November.

Mitco39 04-17-2014 09:20 AM

The next place we purchase will be just outside city limits somewhere. Its one thing to have a small garage like this, its another not to have a driveway up to it. But at the time I was buying it was the best I could afford and you have to admit its a fair size garage for a townhouse.

What you mean you cant open the doors in your garage? haha

wheee! 04-17-2014 09:50 AM

True... I am looking at three properties right now. All with three car garages and all with rear detached double garage/workshops... plus parking for min 6 vehicles on the pad in front. I'm sick of being cramped.... time to move on up like the Jeffersons!

Plasmite 04-17-2014 12:49 PM

I was forced into a situation where I had the option to either rent or buy and decided to buy. It ended up being for a duplex and the front garage is maybe 8x10 if I am lucky. The GF can fit the Subaru Impreza in there pretty easily, but not much room to open the doors and get out. So I know I have some room in the front to build a bench, but thinking I wont be able to open the Z's doors all the way :rofl2:

It was a good buy in a great neighborhood, prices are only going to go up, but totally looking for somewhere just outside the city with a shop as well. If I sell for a good enough profit, will probably build my own

wheee! 04-17-2014 01:07 PM

....that's not part of your wish list :stirthepot:

Got around to putting a few light coats of nightshade on my tails and 3rd brake light.

I put 2 coats of VHT and 5 coats of clear then wetsanded and polished. I didnt want to go to dark, but just enough to pull the bright red look out of my tails. Overall I am happy with how they turned out.

I also tapped off the reverse lights but removed the tape before the clear coating. I did not presand the lights.

Mitco39 05-01-2014 02:05 PM

I was kinda on the fence between what to do with the 3rd brake light. The Mrs. said I should leave it because as it stands now it is obnoxiously bright at night and shes right. I kinda like that about it. I think because I went lighter on the tails it does not look out of place as it is.

Plasmite 05-01-2014 03:43 PM

Lookin good :D

Bananaz 05-29-2014 04:41 PM

What a sexy build, props! This is the turbo kit I eventually want.

Courtesy of CJM, dont have as many pictures as I like but the kit does work flawlessly.

Fuel pressure is no longer an issue. Sits at ~56 psi and then ~53 under boost. Might hook up the boost line to the regulator, havent decided yet. I think once I dial in the fuel (it currently bottoms out the AFR gauge at 10:1) I wont see any pressure drop at all. No point to increase the pressure if I dont have to.
