Does the stillen front have the clearance for brackets to the front crash bar? That's what I have mocked up on mine. Also, I'm sure you have it somewhere in here but what material are you going with? Alumilite? |

^ I've been meaning to upgrade my mirror as well, my view through the rear with the cage is crappy right now. I was looking at Longacre's mirrors and trying to guess what bracket length to use. What mirror/length is that above?
|
Spohn, I havent been on in awhile, had to check on your ride. Looking good! Keep up it up and be safe out there brother.

great build man im hoping i could do the same to my 370z later in its life but i gotta ask you where did you go to learn to do all this did you go to school or self taught? im really interested because im debating if i should go to school or buy an old car and take it apart and learn from there.
|
Self taught. A lot things just makes sense to me. But seriously I've learned a lot from multiple forums and trail and error. Key is to do one thing at a time and patience. Don't start on anything else without finishing the first.

Lots of rust to shave off after an absent of 10 months. Managed a 1:46 in the video somewhere in the beginning. Feel free to give advice.
|
driving looks great. two thoughts 1) go faster :P, 2) roll out of turn 1 more... you've got an opp'n to use a lot more of the track which will help you get comfortable carrying more speed

Great video, how does the car feel with all the weight savings?
|
330whp @2831lbs this car is on the verge of being a unicorn 380rs-c
|
i bet you still cringe coming over the top of the hill at turn 3 eh? lol

Didn't see that. What did your F:R weight end up coming out to? |
Quote:
|
Ah. So basically a 56/44 F:R split with a half full tank.
Probably even out to around 54/46 with a totally full tank. Also puts full tank weight at right under 2900 lbs. This is about where I anticipate my car coming in with my half cage and less-aggressive weight loss. |
So, basically 55:45 on the weight dist.

just wanted to share this with you guys...this motivates me and then seeing you guys do it mostly by yourselves is even more motivating! Keep up the work OP and others that have track oriented builds! |
The weight is with full cage and half a tank of gas.
The car is quick. Rotates perfect IMO. I soften up the rear a lot with sways and dampening. |

I'll be 58/42 with 1/4 tank, 56.5/43.5 full tank. That's probably really bad either way. |
Damn car is damn light, my preference is more front camber I never ran a pyrometer but felt best between 3.3-3.4ish
|
The pic you see is when we first put the car on the scale. After the corner balance the car ended up at 54/46.
I made the rear soft to keep the weight planted longer which will keep grip longer. It has seem to work great. There's more weight to be had off this car. Even the front. Just haven't got there yet. |
