Yes. My plans are the weekend after ZDays is to start tearing down the car for I have already sold my headers, TP's, and Gen 3 intakes. In that meantime I have several other plans I want to do. I'll also go ahead a heat wrap some vital electrical componets, change fuel injectors, and spark plugs. That's only a days work when I think about it. :icon17: I'll go ahead remove the oil pan and get it all cleaned up. Just the small things I know that has to be done. I've ordered a boost controller and two Innovative A/F gauges so I can go ahead and get those hooked up as much as possiable.

I'm installing a wind splitter, lexan windows, and want to clean the inside my car out more to have it painted to give it a overall cleaner look.

Dzel 04-28-2013 12:04 PM

I hope we see a date soon I would hate for your car to sit there with no oil for to long

I may have missed it...do you have any plans for a rear diffuser?

I eventually do. A friend of mine is going to do it when time fits. He's very good and been doing aero designs ever since he was 12, literally.

Think my diff bushing is busted. Been hearing some sounds from that are the last few days. Then after looking and knowing this is a common problem I checked the bushing out. Look like there is a small crease on the bottom side of the bushing from where the weight is pulling down on it. Felt around and there is wet black substance around it. Also some on the diff. Last time I drove it was in the rain so a good bit must likely washed away.

So what does this mean. MOD TIME:tup: Sorry for cell pics

Nasty. I have to admit I haven't looked at those bushings in months... wonder what mine look like.

SPOHN 05-12-2013 05:12 PM

I don't feel anything odd in the rear just would hear some noise from time to time on uneven surfaces. It will be ok for till after Zdayz. But I'm about to order now. I believe by swapping to the Poly motor/ tranny mounts and last track day but the final stress on this bushing. Being I'm tearing down my car after Zdayz for my TT I'll just add this to the list. I love modding.

Rusty 05-12-2013 10:29 PM

Which bushing set you going with? Solid or poly?

I'm thinking and alomost sold myself

As you may know I'm going for the GTM MHI TT kit. The weekend after ZDayz I'll tearing my car down getting a hugh jump before the kit comes and selling my parts. Being I'm removing the radiator core support and the time it will take to get the TT kit I thought it would be best to remove the motor for the install and the cool factor of removing the first fire wall of two that our cars have. Something that I planned to do anyways. Why not now?

This will reduce more weight and I feel it would help a lot with less trap heat with the walls of the first fire wall removed. As seen below.

My cocern about removing the second firewall. Does it have anything to do with chassic strength in that area? I don't know how that area is put together.

Not sure exactly. I'll be talking to this guys car at ZDayz. As you can see in the pics there a good bit of stitch welding in places. All in all there's not really that much removed. Just three simple wall sections that are thin as is. Basically the U-shape section you see there.

Rusty 05-13-2013 09:57 PM

If you're going that far. Finish seam welding the rest of it.

My welder is ready

Rusty 05-13-2013 10:02 PM

If you was closer, I would give you a hand. Love a good welding job like this.

Kingbaby 05-14-2013 02:32 PM

If you seam welded everything you won't miss the firewall...the 240 community has been doing this and many folks have report feeling a difference in chasis rigidity...

Sh0velMan 05-14-2013 02:38 PM

Lord, one day I might be able to seam weld everything.. but that's a fckin job right there.

Even as torn apart as my car is right now (Look at the journal) it's still not nearly torn down enough for seam welding...

Man that's nasty. We were on 28 heading toward Fontana just as he was going down the southbound side and covering half the road in grass.

Yes.

wstar 06-03-2013 08:53 AM

Was it you that tried the Momentum 350 headers with good results? I noticed Z1 put a new product up today, headers for VQ35/37. From the description it sounds like these might be the momentum-like ones?

Love ya man, but dude, you're like two weeks behind the times!

:P

Those are the same headers, just newly made by Z1. He and Mike (and several others on the forums) have had good results from them.

(For the price, I'd just get the PPE LTH's unless you gotta have you some cats)

wstar 06-03-2013 09:19 AM

Hey I spent half of the past two weeks in Amsterdam. That puts me out of the loop and into some good hashish. I have excuses :)

I'm planning to leave my FI LTH's on the car for now just because I have better things to waste money and time on than swapping to another header setup. I do suspect the Z1/Momentum setup may give better power though. I mean, there's those dyno results, and also I just think may the FI's flow a little *too* well for the low-mid RPM range on this car.
