Awesome. Wish we had a track like that around here... we have a couple nice (flat) indoor ones but nothing like that. I've always wanted to learn to drive a shifter kart and rent one for Mid-Ohio or Grattan.

Gutted Doors.

^ cool, looks like mine. you'll need to remind everyone to not lean on your doors now!
also, might want to get something to tack onto the end to create a larger pull. I used just a variety of stuff sitting around the garage to clamp around the metal ball. Eg help you can get out of the car in 3-4 seconds exit drill |

you should rotate them so that they all point the same relative direction when in the normal operating range to make them easier to see with a quick glance.
|
Both wide bands should be next to one another.

Nice! Hey - back on the door stuff - did you just remove the lock pull-cable, so that the lock can only be turned with the key from the outside? I pulled out the lock module on one of mine and tried to look for a way to just disable the lock completely, but nothing seemed obvious. The paranoid side of me wonders if in some kind of jarring track condition the lock could engage itself and then you have no easy way to open it from the inside.
|
I just removed the cable for now. I'm still looking into it. I know when I was hacking at the door I locked it some how after the cable was removed and had to use the key to open. So yes there are some concerns for it locking at the moment. I'll probably remove the hole mechanism and remove/ cut the actual locking device.

Mirrors look good
One thing I wish I had done differently on my rear window... black out those trim pieces before you drop in the lexan... and black out the lexan where it sits over the trim pieces |
Also if you're running w/o passenger seat, might consider shortening that battery cable and mounting it at the aft end of passenger area. Gets the battery about 10 inches lower as well.

I'll be running a passenger seat. Never know when there will be a Leh Keen or Mike Skeen at the track to teach me a thing or two. They seem to be a Road Atlanta a lot. |
Lexan Installed.
I left the film on the out side to help protect it till I'm ready. http://i1109.photobucket.com/albums/...ps19a8d515.jpg http://i1109.photobucket.com/albums/...ps97b2b45f.jpg http://i1109.photobucket.com/albums/...ps016a1ae2.jpg |
