So it's gonna take me forever to actually save up for this stuff, but I figured I'll go ahead and start a build thread. So far the only mods are new head unit, blacking out my emblems and turn signals, and a set of Stillen Gen3 CAIs. I think before anything else I will save up for some sexy wheels, then I'll start working on bolt ons. I'm thinking FI LTH and CBE, and a set of pulleys should complete the package. Not trying to go crazy, just want some decent power gains :driving: Anyway, if you have any suggestions let me know!

It was actually really easy to do this install because whoever had it before me had done the same exact mod, the plastic holes had already been cut and everything. This whole install from the bumper coming off to being put back on took about half an hour or so, and I was taking my time.

great start man  love the side turn signals...

Kingbaby 02-29-2012 08:00 AM

Little mad your using that pic for your avatar...it's the avatar for my facebook club page as well...

Enjoy the car!

TheGreatOne 02-29-2012 09:09 AM

Nice start

Looking back, I might have went with some wheels too before some of the mods I did as it makes such a big difference in the look.

Oh wells...atleast my stock wheels are darker so it helps lol.

Keep us updated!

Huck 02-29-2012 12:08 PM

Thanks guys! Actually I can't decide on what wheels I want to get. Of course the Volk te37s are sexy, but I'm really liking a lot of AM Forged's wheels too. And I'm really sad that 5Zigen discontinued their 5ZR rims, those things were so beautiful. If I could find a set of those in the sizes I wanted it wouldn't be a contest. And this set by Avante Garde is pretty hot too...

http://i62.photobucket.com/albums/h9...s/9d635ae6.jpg

What do you guys think?

Nah I do all the work to my vehicles myself, unless it's taking the transmission or the block apart or something, I don't have all the specialty tools for that. But headers shouldn't be too bad, from what tony said its just the consuming, he said 6-7 hours. But then again my Stillen Gen 3's were supposed to take1.5 hours and it was more like 45 minutes taking my time. We'll see how it goes :)

Well, here's the next simple upgrade: LED lighting! Just got them in today. I got the ten pack of 194 replacements for the interior and a pair of projector LEDs for the front DRLs. I'll post up pics of how they look once it gets dark out, for now here's these...

You know what would really go well on this car? Some AAM short tail exhausts.

:D I like what you've done so far, bruv.

Huck 04-05-2012 09:47 PM

Holy crap Shad, you're a genius! Why didn't I think of that before?? Say, do you know any middle eastern-type kids of questionable repute that have any for sale? I have my Paypal ready and waiting.

Huck 04-05-2012 10:01 PM

Well, as promised here's the rest of them. Honestly, they aren't as bright as I would like, but with a pack of ten of them for $14 shipped I wasn't really expecting anything more. The two DRL projector LED's from jdmtoys are pretty sweet though, a huge huge difference.

As always, sorry for the crappy pic quality, all I have is my iPhone and it doesn't handle the dark that well. I should have touched these up first, now that I think about it... Oh well.

lookin good, you mind sharing the link of the lights? I might go the cheaper route as well ...looks bright enough that its better than the originals

Huck 04-06-2012 01:37 AM

Honestly it's about the same intensity as the originals for the interior, if not a bit dimmer. I just like the pure white (it comes out blue in the pictures). Keep in mind that this was more of an experiment, I wanted to see the quality and look of these cheaper LEDs. There are a few forum sponsors here that make great quality bulbs that look amazing for a good price, and in a while I will be ordering some more from them. You get what you pay for :)

Huck 06-24-2012 02:13 PM

Time for another little update with some cheap mods I've been doing. I get my Fast Intentions CBE/LTH in a few days and I'll have lots of fun installing that. This is something to hold you over till then

Zenclosure box with an old Sony Xplode sub I had laying around. I'll replace it with an Alpine type R later on when I can find another job...
http://i62.photobucket.com/albums/h9...s/2749a7b0.jpg

I plastidipped my rear valence, came out alright. I pulled the masking tape off after doing one really thick coat before it dried, but the lines still came out slightly messed up. Not sure why...
http://i62.photobucket.com/albums/h9...s/04170a28.jpg

And last but not least, I took my start button apart and painted it so that a Z shines at night. I think it looks pretty cool, and it was pretty easy to do.

Huck 06-26-2012 08:44 PM

Cool with me! But we'll need a bit of time. I have to work until 5 the Saturday you told me about, would you want to meet up in Orlando? I can do the drive to Tampa, but I would get there at like 8pm or so.

Huck 07-02-2012 11:20 PM

Thanks man :) I just installed my crank pulley today, didn't really notice much of a difference, except for the fact that it seems to pull smoother, and when you blip the throttle it's a lot more responsive. The stock one is about 6lbs or so (guessing), and I would say the stillen one weighs just over 1lb. Plus it just looks sexy :) I'm guessing it added about 5-6 hp, and probably about the same in tq. Anyway, here's a pic of the two...

Nice exhaust man.. FootLoose301 has an FI with ART test pipes. It gave the exhaust a deeper growl and raised his low-end torque. Also lowered the cabin noise a little.

:tiphat: Dude nice build, subscribed..

Huck 07-08-2012 10:46 PM

Yeah that's gonna be one of the next things I'll do is dynamat the interior. Whenever NYblades gets the time to ship it, I'm buying his alpine components, so I'll do the rear hatch and the doors.
