tattoo meaning is legit!

Huck 12-11-2013 09:41 PM

Thanks man! I thought long and hard about it, and the idea was something that had been in my mind for a while. I can't just go into a studio and be like "this looks cool, let's do that" cause I'm fickle as hell. I'll wake up in two weeks and hate it and then I'm screwed.

The Latin bit actually came from a song by Anberlin called Miserabile Visu (Ex Malo Bonum) (which is an awesome song BTW) and when I looked up the meaning it fit perfectly with what I wanted to get.

More is in the works, just figuring out what exactly I want to get and where. Oh, and I need more money lol.

Quick update, I've done a few things here and there to the car but the most recent one is installing foot well lighting. Super easy and super cheap. $10 in parts and 20 minutes taking my time.

http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/01/22/aqupu9eg.jpg

I've also installed wheel spacers and I have my tow hook, strut bar, and new BBK calipers at the powder coaters right now.

sub'd!

lookin' good man!

Huck 01-21-2014 04:13 PM

Thanks man! The fun part is going to be trying to get the caliper seals and everything all back together, but once that's done it should look nice and pretty.

Is the foot well a kit ??
Pics ??

Huck 01-21-2014 11:03 PM

Its not a kit, just buy 4 of these:

http://www.superbrightleds.com/morei...ent-light/639/

And wire them into your illuminated kick plate harness. Maybe I'll do a quick diy later on in the week if I have time.

No resistors needed ?
what color white did you go with ?

Huck 01-22-2014 08:55 AM

If there are resistors they're already wired in, I didn't have to get any. Its called cool white, its probably around 6000k so it has just a tinge of blue to it which matches all my other LEDs in the car.

Huck 01-25-2014 08:00 AM

Hey guys, I got my strut bar and tow hook back from the powder coater yesterday and put them back on the car. The Akebono calipers should be done Monday, but I'll be doing a time consuming stereo install that day for a friend so I'll probably grab them Tuesday. Then putting them back together should be fun...

Anyway. Here's a quick pic update!

http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/01/25/getagapa.jpg

http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/01/25/2apaja2y.jpg

I jeep meaning to do a more in-depth update with more pics but I keep on forgetting... Oh well, tomorrow.

Zdayz 2014!!

Huck 02-01-2014 01:24 AM

Next up, the BBK came back from the Powdercoater, I decided to stay away from the pearl white color matching since I'm way too lazy to clean the calipers every week when they get dirty. I went with a gunmetal color cause I figure that's similar to what I'll be getting my wheels in, so they'll all match. Got a good deal on some used RE-11's from Mike the Powdercoater, and he's gonna throw in some white Z1 stickers to go on the calipers.

http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/02/01/4araqama.jpg

I also bought some cheap carbon fiber fabric and epoxy to olay around with and see if I can't get the hang of wrapping stuff in CF. Let's see how it goes.

Looking good brother!!!

Gibby1113 02-01-2014 11:27 AM

Hey huck I'm looking to get some parking LEDs but I really want them to be the same color as the oem led headlight. Are the one that you posted the same color or are they bluish? You posted some from amazon and jdm which would you recommend for my preference?

Thanks

Huck 02-01-2014 12:56 PM

Actually I would recommend either vleds.com or superbrightleds.com. the second site has a cool feature where you tell it what bulb you're looking for (DRL, map light, etc) and it shows you all the compatible LEDs and how bright they are. Look for an LED that is labeled as "warm white", the cool white has a tinge of blue to it. Warm white will be closer to 4500-5000k.

Gibby1113 02-01-2014 05:32 PM

194 CAN Bus LED Bulb - 5 SMD LED Wedge Base Tower | Miniature Wedge Base LEDs | LED Car Bulbs | Super Bright LEDs

Would these be white?

Huck 02-02-2014 03:05 AM

Yes, they have the option for white, cool, natural, and warm. I would go with either warm which is gonna match the stock 4300k headlights or natural which will probably be more of a pure white 5000k look without the yellow tinge to it.

simota1 02-02-2014 03:01 PM

i love the cabin lighting its freaking clean!!!!

Huck 02-02-2014 05:29 PM

Thanks Sim! I don't know why I didn't do it before, its so easy... And I really like those LEDs, inexpensive, convenient sticky backing, and nice and bright.

Zdayz 2014!!

Gibby1113 02-02-2014 09:26 PM

It says the white is 4500k and warm white is 3000k. Still think I should go w/ warm white?

Huck 02-02-2014 09:31 PM

Nah I'd stick to the 4500k then

Zdayz 2014!!

Gibby1113 02-02-2014 09:35 PM

Cool thanks for the advice huck!

Gibby1113 02-02-2014 09:37 PM

So if this website says that they'll fit they should fit right? I noticed these are only for CAN vehicles and nissan isn't listed as one of those vehicles.

Huck 02-03-2014 01:33 AM

You don't want to use can bus bulbs for our cars, its not necessary. Check out this link to find the appropriate bulbs for our cars.

Well guys its been a while since I updated last, and I don't have time to update this moment but I have a lot of new things to show off. Hopefully in the next few days I can list everything. Let's just say I'm super happy with the way the car is turning out :excited:

Zerocool 04-30-2014 06:26 PM

very niceeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!! jelly of the wheels

Huck 04-30-2014 07:47 PM

Thanks Zero, I'm in love with the concavity of them. And they're actually great wheels, the 19x11 rear wheel weighs 25lbs and the front is 22 which isn't far off the TE's. And they're not expensive either so that's a win win for me.

Zdayz 2014!!

Zerocool 04-30-2014 10:45 PM

Probably one of the best looking wheels for the Z. I'm also a big fan of SSR and Gram Lights but those are a lot more $$$... Considering all the damn potholes here, I'd get my exhaust and I'll wait on the wheels some more.

Huck 04-30-2014 10:50 PM

I actually looked at the gram light 57xtreme wheels, and I was considering blowing way too much money on some Advans but then in saw the amount of concave these had and fell in love.

Mistress is gonna be hot. :)

Wondering how things are going with the NST pulleys.

Huck 05-01-2014 06:27 AM
