It's a ten minute mod. Fused cable, two prongs and a phone jack! $10 eBay special.

lol, In the end Ed, I had to take them out a bunch more times when one of the bulbs died (one day after install!!) and I went and bought a replacement bulb, only to discover it was the wrong bulb (white) after I got home! then I went and bought another one that was the wrong size tab before I finally got one the right size for the car!!! lol I was a pro by the end of it all....

edconline 05-14-2013 10:48 AM

At the Nissan dealer getting the rev E steering lock installed! Manufactured 13 May 13. That's a good sign I hope.

LMBmikeZ 07-10-2013 10:50 AM

Why not just delete it/pull the fuse/cut brown wire/use harness bypass????

Mitco39 07-10-2013 11:09 AM

Yeah mine will just be staying disconnected, not going to bother with the recal. I would imagine one would want to do it so that if you go to sell the car you can say its 100% up to date maybe?

It was a free service recall, and the service manager at Go Nissan (Kurt) on St.Albert Trail installed it personally in about 35 minutes for me. He worked on Ed's car too.
I figure it might as well be replaced for peace of mind. Plus it is the very latest rev out there.

wheee! 07-11-2013 11:55 AM

Pic of the Rev E lock installed in the car yesterday....

Mitco39 07-11-2013 12:38 PM

They really want you to know its Rev E dont they. haha

GaleForce 07-11-2013 07:06 PM

It's actually a rev D. The version letter is in the JF00D previous versions were JF00A, JF00B, and JF00C

I'm not sure what all the "E" letters are for.

Smh.
It's a switch-it took four tries.
Less than stellar if you ask me.
More testing and less releases (and unhappy customers) maybe?

wheee! 07-23-2013 08:55 AM

Well, RoZy finally came away a winner at a car show! Small event and only five cars in my class, but she still pulled off a win! ...feels good. Though I have to thank the local guys that didn't show up for 'helping' me! :icon17:
