Rusty
Great thread, thanks for pointing me to it...
like you attitude and the way you go about things...

Get well soon, so you can continue having fun and play which is always key... :happydance:

I feel better now about starting my build, thou, unlike you my mechanical ability is in question, become all thumbs

will be starting mine shortly

Rusty 02-20-2016 12:08 PM

Thank you! :tiphat:

I've been turning wrenches and doing fabrication most of my life with degrees in welding engineering, mechanical engineering, and backyard engineering LOL. So a lot of stuff comes easy for me.

Don't be scarce of doing some stuff. Just take your time and plan it out and think it through. The more you do. The more experience you get. The better you get. ;) Looking forward towards your build. Start a journal.

The foot is coming along great. No more crutches. Still in walking boot. Inside the house. I don't use the boot. The pins come out in 3 weeks. Just have a very bad cramp in my calf that I can't get rid of. It's from compensating from walking with bad foot. :icon14:

Rusty 03-08-2016 07:45 PM

Pins are out of my toes. :D No more toe-kabobs!:icon17: Have to wear a toe brace and a walking boot for another 2 weeks or so. Foot is still sore under the front pad. Think they sprained my ankle during surgery. Swelling in my ankle finally when down, and a pain in it is gone too thank God!

Glad to hear this, Rusty. You'll be ready for ZDayZ before you know it!

Rusty 03-08-2016 09:39 PM

I backed the Nismo out of the garage today for the first time since Dec. with the walking boot on. It wasn't pretty. Damn walking boot covers both clutch and brake pedal at the same time. And I can't move it over to the left without hurting. :shakes head:

BGTV8 03-08-2016 09:46 PM

Jeez man .... read the last half-dozen posts ... you have been in the wars ..........

Get well soon ....

Rusty 03-08-2016 10:20 PM

You can say that. Have Ti in my asss, and foot now. Even got a bullet hole in my back as a souvenir from the late '70's. :shakes head:

Driving the Nismo again. :icon17::happydance: :driving:

Had a set-back last week. My calf swelled up big enough that I had a hard time getting my jeans off. Went to the hospital, and found out I had blood clots in my calf. On meds to dissolve the the clots. Swelling is down. Seen the doc yesterday. Told me I can start doing things again. But don't over do it. Got a shoe on my foot for the first time since surgery. The foot is still swelled some. So I had to LOOSEN up the shoe laces a good bit. :icon17: Soon as I think I can trust the foot. I'm going to install my ATI dampener.

Hotrodz 03-25-2016 09:12 AM

Glad to hear you are back on your feet...literally my friend. Time to get your strength back because you got some driving to do...

Feels good not wearing a walking boot! Pushing the clutch in. I have to use the arch of my foot or the outside part of it, not the ball. It's still sore.

Hotrodz 03-25-2016 11:28 AM

I remember doing that when I broke my foot years ago...

Had a great time at ZDayZ. Met up with old friends and made new friends. :D The rain sucked. Other then that. A good time was had by all.

Here's a video of the Dragon. I turned my wife green. Her Dramamine didn't kick in, in time. She was thankful that the blue Subie was keeping my speed down. :shakes head: Youtube cut the video at 15 minutes. So you don't hear some of my wife's comments at the overlook. :icon17:

I'm looking to put 345's on the back of my z in the next couple weeks. Before I order wheels I was curious how much room do you have on the inside. Could you move your offset in more? Also what suspension do you have? Thanks

I'm on stock Nismo suspension for now. Have about an inch of clearance between the tire and shock body at the top of the tire. If running true type coilovers in the rear. The tire may hit the shock spring, depending on the diameter of the spring.

Did you get your ATI damper installed yet or is it still in the box like mine?

Still in the box. Haven't had time. Since I retired. I've been more busy then I've ever have. Remodeled the kitchen, building a retaining wall in the back yard, refinishing all the interior doors in the house. Been to ZDayZ. With the motorhome, spent 10 days at Table Rock Lake Missouri, 4 days at Rausch Creek 4 wheeling the Power Wagon. Just got back from a 6000 mile, 30 day tour. :driving::driving::driving: From Brownsville Pa, to Denver, to Colorado Springs, to Bloomfield NM, to Chama NM, to Midland Tx, to San Antonio Tx, to Houston Tx, with quick stops at New Orleans, Jackson Miss, Memphis, Nashville, Columbus Oh. Taking a 8 day cruise next month.

:icon17: Going from a 41ft motorhome, towing a Grand Cherokee. To the Nismo is going to be a shock. Getting back on the track is going to be another thing. :driving:

Signed up for a HPDE in Phoenix on September 10th. I can't wait, it's a night event as well.

cv129 08-24-2016 03:34 AM

You should tow your Z around the country for a Nationwide track days tour
