Going from a 2" to 3" brake cooling hose. The hose comes in 11ft lengths. I used all 11ft. I used the high temp hose that isn't as flexible as the other hose. Thinking back on it. I could have used that instead. If doing this on a turbo car. It would be a must with the more flexible hose.
https://www.pegasusautoracing.com/gr...roupID=AIRHOSE 1st pic. The difference in hose size. 2nd pic. The duct inlet. 3rd pic. The 2" set-up. 4th pic. The 3" modded inlets. 5th and 6th pics. Routing the hose from the duct. |
9 Attachment(s)
Backing plates.
1st pic. A modded OEM with a 3" tube, and the 2" Stillen. Found out that the modded OEM doesn't have enough offset and flexed into the rotor when the steering wheel was all the way to one side. :shakes head: The oem has an offset of 3/16". The Stillen has an offset of 5/16". The OEM thickness is .032" The Stillen is .038". 2nd and 3rd pic. Modding the Stillen for the 3" hose. 4th pic. Checking for clearance. 5th and 6th pic. The steering knuckle. 7th pic. When installing the wheel bearing. There is a top and bottom to them. If you install them up side down. They will fit but you can't install the wheel sensor. 8th pic. The backing plate and wheel bearing installed. 9th pic. Looking at the back of the rotor. |
3 Attachment(s)
Here, you can see the flex in the backing plate. This is the Stillen. The OEM would hit the rotor.
1st pic. Wheels straight ahead. 2nd and 3rd pics. Wheels turn all the way from one side to the other. |
3 Attachment(s)
Tire clearance. It's tight. Had to oval the hose with a rubber mallet just above the sway bar.
2nd pic. Before ovaling. 3rd pic. you can see the oval. |
First time on the road since last November. With the SPL subframe bushing and the Bell diff brace. I can hear the diff now. It a racecar type whine on going up and down in speed. :driving:

Time for the splitter.
Pic's. Christmas present from the wifey. |
7 Attachment(s)
1st pic. Removed the bumper.
2nd pic. The "GAP" 3rd pic. No bumper. 4th and 5th pics. Masked off the splitter. 6th pic. Set the bumper down on the splitter and mark the holes and then drill them. 7th pic. Mounting the splitter to the bumper for the first time. The two was bolted and unbolted a number of times for fitting. |
8 Attachment(s)
1st pic. The bumper and splitter bolted together.
2nd and 3rd pics. Th "Gap" and trying to figure out what to do with it. :shakes head: 4th pic. I tried to use a peice of foam to fit in the "Gap". Gave up on that idea. 5th pic. The stock black plastic under chin. Hmmmm 6th, 7th, and 8th pics. Cut down the black plastic piece. |
5 Attachment(s)
These pics. Have the bumper mounted to the body. And the splitter mounted to the bumper. Had to use the floor jack under the splitter to help hold it in place.
|
7 Attachment(s)
1st and 2nd pics. Got some metric all thread. Using this for the "Gap" area of the bumper
3rd pic. Here you can see the all thread. 4th pic. The ZSpeed under tray mounted. 5th pic. Had to cut about 6" notch in the splitter to fit where the ZSpeed undertray bolts to the frame. 6th pic. Splitter bolted back up. With the Nismo Big Mouth Mod. I cut out the cross bar, and enlarged the opening some. 7th pic. Here you can see the notch in the splitter and how it clears the undertray. |
4 Attachment(s)
That the front of the wheel well liner. That is a gap between it and the splitter. I figured out a fix for that gap.
1st pic. The wings from the ZSpeed undertray. 2nd pic. I ground off the rivet heads between the 2 parts. 3rd pic. I pop riveted a piece of aluminum sheet to the curved piece. The sheet is in front of the liner, and the curve piece is bolted to the splitter. I also used the curve piece as a template to trim the splitter for tire clearance. 4th pic. Installed and painted with Dip-It. |
4 Attachment(s)
Almost finished. The strut rods that came with the splitter from ARP are too short. I got a set from I think FTR. They are polished aluminum instead of stainless steel. Those pics have the ARP rods on.

Time to post up my FE Design fender vents.
1st pic. Mask off the fender with painter's tape. Position the template where you want it, and tape in place. Take a Sharpie and mark the inside of the template. 2nd pic. I used a 4" fiber cut off wheel on my die grinder to cut the fender. The fender is steel, unlike the hood which is aluminum. Cut on the outside of the line you made. 3rd and 4th pic's. The hole in the fender that you just ruined. :rofl2: This is what it looks like. 5th pic. Cleaned the area up, and spray painted the inner fender black. 6th pic. Fitting the vent. Had to trim some areas bigger. The bottom point had to be opened up more. I used an air powered belt sander to trim more. |
5 Attachment(s)
1st pic. Once I was happy with the way it fit.
2nd pic. I drilled holes in both the vent and fender. Once done. I painted the holes and cut edges with cold galvanizing paint. 3rd pic. Re moved the inner fender liner and cut an area out of it. 4th and 5 th pic's. This little brace had to be notched for clearance on both sides of the car. |
5 Attachment(s)
'These pic's show different angles of the vent. To hold the vent in place. I used #10 button head bolts with nylock nuts on the back side with ss washers. I could have gotten away with #8 button heads.
|
4 Attachment(s)
These pic's are the hole I cut into the inner fender liner. Over the holes. I glued some bug screen over them to keep the rocks out. Next winter, I'll make the holes bigger.
