Does the car not realize I'm trying to make it badass? Anyways..... calling Nissan to see if they can just ship the part to JTran and let them do the swap via the Nissan TSB for 09-10's. Sh*t better go rite!

Tap the lock while trying to start the car, it should release and then you can yank the fuse to stop it happening again while you wait for the replacement part (covered under recall warranty)

I did that in the fall of 2011 and hadn't had any issues since, BUT I never pulled the damn fuse. The steering wheel lock actually never locked the wheel again and it's still not locked. I tried hitting the unit again but I didn't hit it while trying to start the car. I'll give it a go.

It needs to be 'energized' while tapping it for it to back out of the lock position. It should work....

Well, it's been many moons since I did an update. Life, work and time has gotten in the way with the build, but now the engine is complete and next stop will be fabrication of new turbo manifold and 4 inch single exit exhaust.

Ran into a few issues along the way with VVEL, I had the cam caps incorrectly installed in the right order preventing the VVEL from operating correctly. That problem solved she fired right up!

Roll bar fabrication was completed today, going to powder coat for some red to complement the red Bride seats and harness's.

I've attached some recent pics of my new rims, roll bar and a video of start up!

I'll be submitting more updates as often as possible, we expect her to be on the dyno in about 1.5-2 weeks!

:iagree:

And that's a pretty brutal dyno. Any plans to take it somewhere with a dynojet for **** measurement purposes? :rofl2:

O&G 02-21-2014 11:12 AM

Chuck....JTRANS mustang has been repaired and calibrated so its producing more accurate numbers now. However he us still going to get rid of it and upgrade to something newer and that takes up less space....most likely a dynojet...but yes I will take it over to another friend who has a dynojet down thwart street!

Ok, because his old one was a heartbreaker. His and Kosmic's mustangs just made you feel bad. :rofl2: I know it's just a tuning tool, but numbers that low just ruin your day.

O&G 02-21-2014 11:35 AM

True that.....plus all the newbs think ur car is slow until they get smoked!! Although its fun to get people to strap their car down on it claiming mad power and then they leave with a sad face lol

Chuck33079 02-21-2014 11:38 AM

Yeah, I need to go get a dynojet number so I can feel better about myself. :rofl2:

The numbers must not be linear when it comes to dyno readings between boosted and NA cars. I can tell you that I put down almost identical numbers on Powerfabs Dynojet as I did on JTrans Mustang. NA was 306whp DJ and 311whp Mustang (yes I put down higher numbers on the Mustang at JTrans). Numbers that close are likely just differences in conditions.

Pre-UpRev my numbers were 299whp at both locations.

I'd have to look at the date stamp on the map file but I want to say beginning of 2012. You were there that day as we went for a spin in your Z but I've had way too much bourbon since then to remember exactly how long ago.

I just read the while thread. Damn you insomnia!! Anyhoo, why did I just now come across this? I live a few miles away from jtranz. Did you see my little brothers black Altima coupe there? It was getting body work done (stillin). Man I want to go boost too. I'm a noob to it though.

I could walk to the shop if I wasn't so lazy. I'm off till wends. Imk when you will be there. I'm not doing much other than cooking and doing a oil change today. i might bake some cookies in a few days though.. anyhoo, interested in your turbo or any boosted car. I'm trying to see if it's worth it for me to work 4 days a week to save up $$

And Just piggy from post you had a while back, Guru and his crew seem like a cool bunch. i met him, his crew, and the jtranz crew a little while back at the Houston Z event.

O&G 02-23-2014 11:15 AM

updated parts list on page 1 to current!

O&G 02-25-2014 09:23 PM

Fuel rails and the remainder of the hard pipe sending lines ordered today from Charles!
CJM VQ37VHR FPD Fuel Rails

I'll be selling my ID 850's and going with 1300's or 2k's for my E85 tune after we complete fab and I break the motor in on regular gas.

I'll post a for sale thread when I get to that point. Injector Dynamics is king!

jwick 02-25-2014 10:50 PM

That setup is sweet. Hope I'm around when the tuning goes down.

Wilbe 02-27-2014 04:05 PM

I saw you have the Uprev Tuner..... If I got one I would surely see you at the shop again but I'm not sure if it is actually worth the $$. btw thanks for the interior.

:iagree:

Johnny will take good care of you. He can provide license and order the cable for you. I would just let him handle it all instead of ordering from UpRev and then taking it to JTran.

Well we have decided that I will no longer be a low mount. Going race car!

We are working on a new support structure for the front bumper, hood, intercooler and turbo brackets right now. My 70mm will be mounted where the wind shield reservoir was w/ the exhaust coming out of the side of the front bumper. The boost pipe will be minimal as the turbo is right next to the intercooler inlet, less travel time! We have flipped the headers around facing the front of the car and V-banded them to the hot side piping. Also, less travel time to the turbo.

Still a lot more to do, but getting very excited. I will blow fire on you if you are to the right of me, be warned!

Can they replicate for a fair price, maybe group buy?

O&G 03-13-2014 10:18 AM

That's exactly what he is doing. This was just a prototype. He is sending the final version off for production. Maybe 10 units. I'll keep you posted.

theDreamer 03-13-2014 10:23 AM

Good to hear, working on getting my CSF radiator replaced since it developed a leak and thinking of changing out my thermostat to the one chuck got (off the g37) and possibly a new resevoir with an oil catch can (need one).
