Finally made time to finish the assembly. Dropping her in this evening. Ron assembled and blue printed the bottom end. Johnny torque the heads on and they made me do the rest. Learned a ton. Im back out of town tomorrow on work but next time Im in town the fabrication should be done and she'll be reday for break in. I still want to convert it to a full fuel return system and up the pump size but that will have to wait. I am sticking with the single low mount setup w/ a 7065 Comp turbo, single 3 exhaust no rsonator same muffler. Post more when I got it.

Made some more time. Getting excited! Motor is in. Im buttoning everything down on the motor. Johnny is welding VBands on the stock manifolds. That was the biggest issue we had before. Exhaust leak b4 the turbo. This should remedy that problem. Lots of room to run piping due to swaping motor mounts out. 1 more week hopefully. Then start up and break in. Its been a long road but this is why we do this. Atleast for me..... Working on them is part of the enjoyment. Ill start a.new thread when she's done and we have some hi boost numbers! :).Hell. .... Even Denofas BMW drift car is a low mount!

Switched out my mishimoto thermostat after hearing another horror story about their products. Sure enough the seal is already busted after 4k miles. Stock unit looks fine with 6k on it. Set up the fuel system and pressure gauge. Mable layed down some sweet fwd numbers!

Yeah, I wouldn't run a Mishimoto part if you gave it to me. Their quality control is godawful. If that thermostat had failed closed, it would have been an expensive problem.
|
That exact thing happened to my friends Subbie and boooooom. Mishimoto products are garbage.... All they're known for around here is their warranty replacement because they're products are always failing. I can't believe they're still around.

I came over here from the Subie world, so I'm well aware of their quality. I ran one of their radiators on my Sti, but I got a Wednesday one and it didn't leak. Didn't fit quite right, but it at least held water.

Last order!
Last of the parts ordered today! Acestainless.com is an awesome site for fabricators. We have the game plan for the upgraded turbo manifold finalized, just waiting on materials. We will be running 1 wastegate and 1 bov pre-intercooler. All the after cooler piping is done!
I can see the light!:driving: |

Went ahead and bought the 340lph. Charles from CJM is sending me the stock fuel regulator delete adapter Monday. Just going to do the return system rite now since we are still waiting on the clutch disc. Down the road Ill add a surge tank to the system and maybe some bigger rails depending on the limits of the stock rails. They're considerably larger than the VQ35 series.

Box o-parts came in. Time to get this tranny in and start this thing. Also ordered a weld in roll bar kit from autopower directly. Good price!

Car started last night, BUT threw a VVEL code for the passenger side bank. It's most likely a sensor or something I messed up. JTran is going to get it figured out for me, I had to get back to work today. Charles at CJ Motorsports shipped my fuel return kit Tuesday and I'll have it tomorrow. Awesome customer service! The only other issue I have with the car is my gauge cluster went out. Not sure if it's a fuse or what. All I did was install a fuel pressure gauge and wideband in the center cubby(which both work btwhttp://www.mysmiley.net/imgs/smile/cool/cool0003.gif). Most likely an easy fix. I cleaned and rebuilt every part of this car down to the CSC, locktite on the flywheel bolts, the inside of the transmission bell housing cleaned, subframe parts all cleaned, oil cooler and lines cleaned, sway bar mounts regreased using Moly, B&W shifter cleaned and regreased, driveshaft.....everything. Mr. Bergenholtz also advised me to silicon the rear main seal guaranteeing no leaks or blowouts considering the power level and my driving style!
Next on the list is fabrication of the turbo manifold, modify the single exit exhaust a bit, install and paint the weld in roll/harness bar kit from Autopower, finish the fuel return system and get some Nitto 305's for the rear. Mr. Bergenholtz got my F250 sponsored by Nitto for Formula Drift in Ft. Worth next month, $2200 in 37" tires fo free. Trying to get the Z wrapped up so I can ask him for sponsorship for that too http://www.mysmiley.net/imgs/smile/happy/happy0065.gif Can't wait to drive this thing! http://i251.photobucket.com/albums/g...ps773afcf0.jpg http://i251.photobucket.com/albums/g...psf92e3f71.jpg |
Congrats on the sponsorship!

subscribed! incredible build!!! love the 40th!

Thanks!
I'll be back in town Thursday to install the new VVEL solenoid on the passenger side bank. JTran is thinking that is the problem and I would have to agree with him as I dropped that solenoid during re-assembly. It wasn't my best moment. Hopefully that will remedy the VVEL issue on the passenger side bank. Autopower roll/harness bar came in as well! |

Fuel return parts I needed to complete the fuel system from Charles @ CJ Motorsports. |
The car will be done before 10-25-2013, my bday :) Been out of town, Formula Drifting it and busy as hell so I gave JTran some cash and said get-er-done. New VVEL solenoid ordered cuz I'm not a mechanic! I should have a lot more info in the upcoming days. The cool weather has arrived here in Texas so we should get some great temps on the dyno! Till next time my faithful followers http://www.mysmiley.net/imgs/smile/animated/anim_32.gif

Spent some time on the Z 2day. Got the return adapter installed. Need to run the line up to the regulator in the engine bay and Ill be done. If I decide to road race Ill do a surge tank setup for the fuel system and a dry sump setup for the oil system. Not going to risk damage to this motor!

CJM Tech Site: A First Look: The 370z Fuel Pump Assembly CJ Motorsports FTW all day long! Been a customer for 8 years and couldn't ask for a better company! |
We installed the VVEL assembly last Friday and tried to start the car. Apparently the AEM regulator can not adjust enough for the cars needs so we swapped it for the Aeromotive regulator. Car started, everything was good and I was happy. When we went to start the car the next day it was doing the steering lock b*llsh*t. One thing after another with this damn car. Does the car not realize I'm trying to make it badass? Anyways..... calling Nissan to see if they can just ship the part to JTran and let them do the swap via the Nissan TSB for 09-10's. Sh*t better go rite!

Bryan and I were at Johnny's yesterday. I see you got new intake piping, looks great!
