Not much to report on the Z front, still waiting on pistons and turbo last I heard. Roll cage is going in and I got a few minor things done, gauge set up, running some fuel lines, etc...
http://i251.photobucket.com/albums/g...124_122226.jpg http://i251.photobucket.com/albums/g...124_122248.jpg Also proud to announce all our vehicles at our home are turbo charged now :) Traded in the Tundrra for a 4x4 Diesel today, 2011 F250 King Ranch w/ all the fixings....I won't list all the crap it has done to it, lets just say I don't need to do a damn thing to it! http://i251.photobucket.com/albums/g...0zer/front.jpg http://i251.photobucket.com/albums/g...50zer/back.jpg http://i251.photobucket.com/albums/g...129_211411.jpg Hopefully I'll be dropping the motor in the Z next week, I'll post pics when it goes down. |

Hung out at the shop 2day. Blocks been here with a few other vqs...lookin good. Turbo in transit along with the pistons. JTran said the pistons are rated to 1000 whp lol...overkill. JTran also started welding up my collectors for the turbo manifolds. Final design will have the turbo sitting in the front bumper. Intake port cut out of the bumper, facing forward with the exhaust side exiting the passenger side front bumper bedore the front tire w/ dual wastegate dumps in the same area. Everything cut and sheilded properly looking legit. Should be stupid loud and cool!!! Slowly getn there.

Turbo and Seat Rails
7065 Turbo came in last week. Here is a pic of it sitting beside a 6265. Bride seat rails also came in. Spoke to Mike @ GTM, the Rod & Main bearings are back from being coated and should be shipped by weeks end. Pistons should be here any day now. Then the tear down will happen. Still need a surge tank, return lines and an upgraded pump. Moving along slowly as I'm broke....lol!

Not sure, I know that's not being used with the new setup as everything is being V-banded and that elbow won't be needed. It didn't look like that before it was shipped to Comp.

Seat Rails & Turbo up close
Seat rails showed up. I've been out of town for work a lot lately so no Z love. I'm trying to make time to get the seats in before these damn pistons & bearings arrive and we pull the motor. Currently saving $$$$ for the upgraded fuel return system, welding supplies, v-bands and a bit of schedule 10 piping in various sizes. Slowly moving along....

Got to work on the Z today....seats are in. Left the plastics on for now. Still waiting on my coated bearings from GTM and the Arias pistons. As soon as they're in the motor is getting pulled and built, then fab work....roll bar and hot side piping. After that misc crap....fuel, safety, etc... But.....in the mean time.... we found a train horn on my new truck so we're hooking it up and causing some trouble :) lol....keep yall posted on the build.

Nice pick-up than! I've been wanting seats for a long time. Hard to commit to a set without sitting in them.

Well, 2 months and a week later the HP coated rod & main bearings showed up from GTM :/ ....pistons were here a few weeks ago but I've been swamped with life. I'll be at the shop tomorrow to determine when we start ripping the motor out. I bet if I bring some beer and grill up some fajitas I can persuade the shop to stay late :stirthepot:. regardless the ball is rolling again.
On another note I will have some mint 40th Rays rims for sale soon, going for a 18x10 or 10.5 square setup w/ some beef! I'll post a thread when I get there. |
what offsets will you run?

I do. I'm running 18x10's +22 with a 20mm spacer in the rear. Very flush all around!

A little update.... the block I bought from vivid racing was unusable. Some of the area where the main bearings would go were beat up pretty bad, didn't want to take the risk. Sooooo....reusing my stock block. I'll be helping Johnny drop the motor and break it down tomorrow, I'll post some pics!
|
That sucks. Why I stuck with my OEM block as well. SHouldn't take long to drop it and start disassembly.
|
Nice build! I just read through the whole thing. I'm on the other side of Texas and would make that trip to do business with JTran.
