You only disconnected the airbag, not the steering lock. You have to remove the steering column to remove the lock mechanism.

Travis with the key in the on position (dash lights illuminated) is your check engine light on?

Typically, if you KOEO and the fans blast away, the CEL light will NOT be illuminated. This indicates that a critical harness or sensor is not connected or bad. a fuse is blown, or you have a short (which probably caused a fuse to blow).

After doing this basic test, it's time to bring in someone with a Consult III, which will immediately uncover the problem.

Now that is a splitter. Get me 10 orders for it and you've got yourself a carbon splitter

Sharif, thanks for checking in... We're going to try restoring the steering column lock sensor first, and if that doesn't do it we'll proceed with checking for blown fuses, improperly connected harnesses, and status of CEL light, and report back. -T

Oops read your post too fast. I was thinking steering wheel position sensor, not steering wheel lock sensor.

With the batt. just conected the fans are blasting, head lights turn on but pass side markers dont work. Now since I pluged the steering lock sensor back in the car will turn on all the way but not start or even act like it wants to, and it wont turn off you have to pull the batt. cable. When I worked at Infinity it was not a big deal to scan it, but now I know the first thing they will say is that I need to put all the stock crap back in. I need to be there to work with the tech and I dont know how that is going to work out.

Soooo the car is all back together and it looks bad *** but it still does not start. But here are some pics I will post more of the inside tomorow.

New steering shaft 3/4in. chromoly

Finished splitter 3/8 plastic on top and 1/8 alum. so it will last a little longer as it sits its about 3in. off the ground.

Rear wing with out end plates.

Single 3 in. alum. exhaust with a Burns race muffler. The whole thing from the Y back weighs 7.2 lbs. the Stillen system I took off weighs 54.5 lbs.

a good news / bad news story at this point...

Junior (fathead) is right, the car looks ready and unbelievably well prepared down to a very detailed level. Some finishing touches on the interior as well I think all will appreciate. Wing looks terrific - went with an 8" instead of 10" lift given availability of part but I like it at this height, so won't be changing that. Splitter is the best I've seen, hoping it isn't too well hooked up and takes out frame when I inevitably make contact!

Bad news is unfortunately after lots of experimentation, we were unable to get the car started. Sharif, if you are willing to this weekend, Junior would like to touch base with you. Believe he left you his number on your vmail. We are likely to find a friendly dealer in town this weekend and see if they are willing to hook up a Consult III and at least diagnose. Still getting same symptoms of:

- KOEO
- and headlights come on, radiator fans on
- fuel pump not starting and fuel showing on panel as 'empty' / 'zero range'
- also we found out by hooking up a known working OBD2 reader that there is no power / signal coming out of the OBD2 port... hoping this tells us somethign
- we checked all fuses everywhere and while we replaced one small 10amp fuse in the kick panel, there were no other blown fuses and replacing the 10a didn't do anything (not sure which it was)
- we checked all wiring, everything is connected solidly

Possibly, we blew up some circuit while working on the car last few months... who knows at this point.

I'm disappointed about this weekend, but tempered by the fact that the car is looking great across all other dimensions.

T

junior, by the way, when you get a chance, can you please post which 10a fuse it was... just count how many rows and columns over from top left and I'll look it up on the service manual... that might be a clue about what's going on... thanks

Car is at a local dealer, right now we are thinking the problem is serious b/c the check engine light is on with key on... which according to my better informed colleagues means that all is good with wiring connections, fuses, etc, and the problem is deeper... e.g., something like a blown ECU! hoping that's not the case

more to come later this week

sure would be nice to actually drive this car!
