thanks red... notice the odd dent by my hood, came out of no where, have no idea how it got there but took a heat gun to it and used a dent puller and its gone now... atleast for now... kinda depressing...

Looking good, sir. I get the same thing...comments from old people and scientologists when i was taking pictures last night, to the weird *** johava's witness that is visiting next door saying he wants a ride.

My car failed the OC test and is at nissan getting a new long block...

complete motor and nothing was said about any of my mods.... just proof to those out there that at the right dealer they want to help you, not screw your..

smithtown nissan , in NY, is taking care of it....

Have a Juke to drive until its done, which i chose over the maxima just to see how it is... Not that bad of a car/truck? , im not really sure what to call it, but its not the worst thing in the world...

when I get it back I am going to baby the hell out of it during break in...

Seriously contemplating getting rid of it now though... I just dont foresee a good future of this car with the issues it has had already... time will tell though..

christian370z 03-30-2011 02:06 PM

That's rough man, sorry you have to go through that. Apart from OC, what other issues have you had with the Z?

RCZ 03-30-2011 02:31 PM

Wow what happened??

I want your gears if you get rid of them :)

chuckd05 03-30-2011 04:00 PM

I had an issue where my car would not rev past 3,000 RPMS, turns out something with the timing chain assembly. Something went bad internally starting with the key way for the crank pulley causing my timing to be WAY off putting the car in safe mode... It was in the shop for almost 5 weeks, as no one had any idea what was wrong... at first they were blaming the tune, which was flashed back to stock by there in house performance shop, it threw codes for cam sensors but it wasnt anything to do with them, eventually it was all taken care of though and the entire timing chain assembly was replaced as well as cam sprockets and some other parts...

bumpers were yellow , my car had the front , rear, and side skirts sprayed before it hit 2,000 miles. the paint just stinks overall as well... now the motor is getting replaced...

Nothing all that major but for a car I have owned for less than two years a lot has happened.. friends see me in the juke and I say the cars in the shop and they say "again?!?" It has been good to me other than these issues but I am thinking long term if its a car I want to own out of warranty and I am not sure..

the motor has arrived at the dealer and after dropping it off Monday, they said it should be done by the end of this week or early next week...

My part out will begin when/if I chose to keep the Z or not...

but the diff I would need a OEM one in return so it may be a tough swap unless you are local to me... a member esfourteen has first dibs though.

all cars have issues, no matter the brand.

:iagree: You have one of the most well-rounded modified Z's on the forum. It would be a shame if you got rid of it.

Boost_lee 03-30-2011 10:56 PM

I agree

sorry to hear this

chuckd05 03-30-2011 11:27 PM

thanks for all the kind words... this site comes along with the Z too and I have yet to be on a car forum as good as this one as well... would be hard to let go... all though m4a is still around even though he went over to the dark-side of American junk, :bowrofl: .... jk

I go through times when I hate all cars in general, than times when I love them...

In all honesty after this motor breaks in , I will check the oil like a mad man, If there are no signs of oil burning chances are I will keep it... More than likely I will have the Z at least through the NY summer season...

Its just at a good time now to sell if I was going to... The car is worth a good amount and the longer I wait the longer the value will drop... A Z with 15k miles in the beginning of the summer is a lot better than one with 25-30k in the beginning of the winter... I have dumped thousands into this car though as I do not feel as if I got my moneys worth yet.. I mean I have long tube headers, a ton of dynomat, a set of stock shocks for if/when mine go bad, and a set of stock Akebono's all waiting install... So it was in my plans to keep this car, I just feel betrayed by my Z right now lol....

what to do :eekdance:

Good luck chuck but most likely i will still consume some oil even with the new motor. Should have worked it out to have a stroker kit put in the new block, then you would fix the oil comsumption issues to boot.

RCZ 03-31-2011 02:34 PM

Dibs on the longtubes! haha

I hope you keep it man. I go through these phases all the time too. Sometimes I get tired of the nuances and the grass is always greener, but I still cannot find something better for under 60k. Maybe a Z06, but I cant get over the damn interior. What would you replace it with if you sold?

SeeyaBud86 03-31-2011 03:40 PM

Sorry to hear about your Z. I agree sometimes the Z can be annoying and harsh and I think about getting other cars too. Just stick with it though man. What would happen if you got another car everytime you saw a Z you would miss it. Unlike some of the other cars (evo, Sti) that are cheaper and easier to mod, I think the Z is much more mature car.
