i think you'll need a more aggressive drop to suit these wheels.

chuckd05 02-03-2011 05:33 PM

possibly toxic... but in this shot I still have two of my brothers 20' axis wheels on the other side with different sized diameter tires, plus im parked up on ice on one side , so i really dont know if this is how the car will sit... It also was just up on a jack and than not driven more than the 8 feet out of my driveway to where these were taken...

BUT, on that same token, there is a black nismo getting a turbo installed at performance motorsports and while talking with him about it, he told me he wanted to sell his coilovers... I may be buying them off him next month at which point this car will DEF be dropped lower... I prob wont try H&Rs just because I think the rear drop is similar and it still wouldnt be the "perfect" drop... Coilovers would be the only way to go for that, but as it sits now it doesnt look all that high in person at all... and Id have to get all four on and ride a few miles and check it on level ground to really tell...

In person these look so much better though, its hard to describe but with the rear pushed out 10mm more it may change the whole look too so I will wait until spacers are on and I ride around a bit to decide... But im with you , a car can always go lower! But it doesnt not look good enough for me to drop 2k on some KWs , if he ends up selling me his BC's I will install them and tweek the height...

nice chuck, if you pass on the coils, send em my way :)

chuckd05 02-04-2011 11:39 PM

haha you got it... he has quoted me a great price, just waiting on him to buy his new ones..

I have to say I am rather impressed with the hankooks, with the recent "warm" spell we have had in NY , 40 degrees lol, I decided to leave the wheels on for a few days and on my way home today it rained and I was very impressed with the traction they had in 40 degree weather and rain... they are also brand new with only 100 or so miles on them. The sidewalls do feel a bit softer than my nitto nt05s and I dont expect them to be as good but I am assuming they will be close to as good.

255/35 305/30 is also much different widths so it also may feel a bit different because of that, but by no means have I beat on them , or could even attempt to in these weather conditions.. but I think I will be pleased with them..

now i need a set of lightweight 18s for track use this summer.... $$$ pit continues.

Put my rear 10mm spacers on, now the offsets are awesome.. I could of prob went with 15 but I think it may of been overkill... right now its about as flush as it could be without protruding out..

I will take some nice pictures next week, I think NY is due for some decent weather so I should be able to take the car out without feeling too bad.

I am gonna post up a thread with some pics for other peoples reference, but I liked this shot... these wheels are hard to photograph... they look much better in person... I cant wait to get some rolling shots...

fairladyZ34 02-19-2011 01:00 AM

that looks really good! id say at most another 1/2 inch lower and its perfect

chuckd05 02-19-2011 01:10 AM

Yea, I'm thinking H&Rs over the eibachs should take it down to that level, I am just nervous about driveability

tsolin01 02-19-2011 07:54 AM

Very nice! Yea new york roads aren't very driveable even without a drop lol. Your current drop looks pretty good to me. I have some swift springs on order and can't wait to get them on.

Yeah i was up in queens last week for a meet and my G is pretty close to slammed. It was a challenge driving thru Queens for the first time and being in a lowered 6spd car.

tranceformer 02-19-2011 09:07 AM

chuck, have you thought about coilovers? you can adjust the height AND you can play with the dampening (that would help your launch at the track).

chuckd05 02-19-2011 10:39 AM

Yea I have but I wouldn't want junk so it would be kws or nothing and I just cant justify the cost right now..

chuckd05 03-19-2011 11:35 PM

Installed some Nismo Seats, OEM chin Spoiler, and painted my fangs black while leaving the bottom white all in the last few weeks... added a nice touch car... I am going to take some nice pictures of the car soon...

with the wheels and front bumper the comments from fellow road dwellers has increased to the point where its almost annoying.. I get the random gangsta tellin me my "shyt is tight yo" to the elderly telling me the car is "sharp"

at the end of the day it atleast makes me feel good about this money I am dumping into this thing...

in this pic below , i added a 2.5mm spacer from z1 auto on top of my 10mm I originally had on the rear.. I feel the offset sits as good as its gonna get for this ride height now... sooner than later I will take some good pics with my good camera, these are cruddy cropped iphone shots
