I did not replace the clutch, just the flywheel! Still using my South Bend Stage 4 clutch :)

Looks like almost everything is in. Its being installed today. We are replacing the CSC because it was failing and clutch bolts as a precaution.

Fidanza Flywheel is out and luckily its almost completely unscathed.

Should be good about a little cleaning.

More pictures coming later.

NewYorkJon34 05-17-2011 02:06 PM

Looking forward to the review

jnaut 05-17-2011 03:13 PM

The competition clutch f/w is soooo much quieter than the fidanza, i installed one a few weeks back very nice piece plus its steel so thats a good peice of mind. Rauls car is coming out perfectly.

jnaut 05-17-2011 03:14 PM

100??

* damn i want to be on top of page 100...fml

RCZ 05-17-2011 03:20 PM

go into your settings and change the "post per page" settings to the maximum...this thread has 38 pages. :)

NewYorkJon34 05-17-2011 07:57 PM

I know southbend makes a flywheel (dxd) I was wondering which flywheel to go with? I want a high quality piece that will not give me problems with the supercharger.

RCZ 05-17-2011 08:26 PM

why would any flywheel give you any problems with the sc?

NewYorkJon34 05-17-2011 08:33 PM

No not saying that, like you bought the fidanza and had to take it out due to problems. I want to buy something right the first time that I won't have to worry about. So I'm looking forward to hearing your review of the new flywheel.

According to Jay (Jnaut) the car is waaaaay quieter than it was before! Success.

jnaut 05-17-2011 09:39 PM

yes, you can still hear the input shaft rattle, but when compared to the fidanza big difference.

NewYorkJon34 05-17-2011 09:42 PM

Is that your shop Jnaut?

sig11 05-17-2011 09:44 PM

God damn, RCZ. That is a pretty car. TIA.

RCZ 05-18-2011 12:13 AM

Thanks sig, I feel it looks incomplete still, but sooner or later I'll take care of the looks when I'm done with the go.

phelan 05-18-2011 01:04 AM

why? i like the way it looks already!

ZForce 05-18-2011 01:34 AM

+ 1
I like the way it looks now.

Mr.Squeeze 05-18-2011 01:48 AM

Car looks good great job:tup:

I'm looking to get the Z-speed CSC soon as well just not sure on the clutch just yet. I am leaning towards the South Bend my self.

tranceformer 05-18-2011 06:14 AM

Squeeze Just a bit of info, but i have a brand new clutch master fx100 in box here at the shop (same one in my car) if you get it ill make you a good deal on the metal csc as i have a whole sale account with them :)

NewYorkJon34 05-18-2011 09:37 AM

Its too bad you dont tune cars Jnaut, im thinking of going to hp logic to get my GTM Stg.2 s/c installed/tuned

RCZ 05-18-2011 10:11 AM

Thanks Phelan and Z Force!

I like this clutch. The pedal feel is a bit stiffer, but the feel is linear from top to bottom. It's slippable and it holds a good amount of power. I can get a small discount off of the price of the southbends, but jnauts clutch is also a good one and its ready to go. He was planning on going turbo and bought the clutch for that application.

Ray! Damnit!

Jon: Jnauts shop is only a few minutes away from HP Logic. Get it installed by jnaut and then take it to HP for tuning with Jack. Those are the two people I always recommend.

I'm not sure that stage 1 clutch will hold up to the amount of power I am about to push. One thing I am trying to avoid is buying another clutch right away.

MightyBobo 05-18-2011 12:24 PM

Nice - how much was the flywheel in the end?

It will, as clutch masters various stages is all in the dics its the same pressure plate even if you have stage 4. I have it in my car , :) trust me i beat the **** out of it... and it just ask for more. no biggie

RCZ 05-18-2011 02:36 PM

How much do stock premium sport seats sell for??

NewYorkJon34 05-19-2011 11:05 PM

well I have the base cloth seats and was offered $600 shipped for them, you could make an estimate off that. RCZ do you get a discount off the southbend flywheel as well?

I'm not sure what these go for, I haven't seen a set sold yet. I have the white premium sports though and have been dying for the black ones. I couldn't find a blue sport/touring/nav with black leather anywhere so I settled for white :(

RCZ 05-20-2011 10:03 AM

I have no idea either man. I'm a little scared of losing the side air bags. I don't think I'd do it for less than $600 a seat. I have no idea what they should go for. Im sure they are thousands of dollars from Nissan.

Didn't Modshack sell his premium seats back when he upgraded to Sparcos? (This was of course when he still owned a Z, lol)

RCZ 05-20-2011 04:40 PM

I'd have to look that up, but I don't remember.

FYI, people with upgraded clutches, prepare to have to fix your master cylinder too. My Car can barely go into gear now, going back to the shop next week.

Did the upgraded csc fix the master cylinder problem

jnaut 05-20-2011 08:47 PM

No, i am finding that the upgraded clutch and csc is making the clutch master angry. I would suggest replacing it along with the new clutch/csc to be on the safe side as i now have had 2 fail. no problem for my customers as i am in very good with my nissan dealership.

Oh and once again congrats raul, your car is a all-around awesome build.
