I'll get more of them later.
Thanks JB1! |
Wow this is amazing ! Good work RCZ !! Can't wait to see more!
I basically just went through the 78pages just now! |
haha you're very welcome. I've had fun doing it!
On that note...got some new mods coming in in a week, I told you guys I'd start shedding pounds off the car ;) -45lbs may not sound too exciting, unless of course that's all unsprung rotational mass. :driving: And I still got a good amount of inertia to remove after this. |
Did you get the Stillen/AP Racing brake kit? I think I only saved about 20 lbs of rotating mass, the rear hats are steel.
|
So did you get the AP brakes??? You will like em' but they squeak alot!
|
Nope, not yet. That drop in weight is from my current setup, not from stock... from stock the drop is about -15lbs. I think I have another 25lbs or so of unsprung rotational weight to drop after that (from stock) without getting the AP BBK.

Do you know how heavy the rotors from the AP kit are?

Good question.. obviously we could machine it, just not sure of the quantities that allow it to make sense, and if there is any other caveats.. But I can definitely find out!
One thing that is unique with the kits we design with AP Racing components.. all of them (with the exception of a Lotus Elise kit) retain the factory parking brake.. |
I'd upgrade my set
|
The brakes are flat out amazing though, I love them. They dont squeek as much as when I first got them but I will get a diff pad when the mood strikes. Im sure you can spend more on a set of brakes but I dont think it gets much better than these AP's
|
haha I've already been sold on the kit, you guys all posting about how amazing they are does NOT help my situation of trying not to buy them right now! A few months down the line guys. I am going to hold off on doing anything else to the brakes to save some $ and so I can actually get the Stillen J-hooks on the track to test them out. I promised Josh I would get him some real feedback and that has not happened yet.
|
Well, Volk CE28N Genesis (thanks Phelan!) are in along with my Project Kics Lugs! Pictures coming later if anyone is interested!

Rear would be interchangeable, but would need a new rotor, hat and hardware. It would be full floating, and have a provision for the e-brake, but not recommended for use, obviously. Getting more info on it now.. |
Yes, no problem in using the e-brake with these, as long as the rotors ARE NOT HOT.. say 30 minutes after tracking, cool to the touch, etc.
Also no go for drifting, etc. Here's a picture of the kit.. and if you hate the gold we can go black with the hat.. http://www.stillen.com/media_files/a...k_kit_rear.jpg |

Need some advice
What does everyone think about running a 245/40/19 on a 9.5" wheel? It would be temporary until I get the right size. Should I do it or should I just wait and not mount anything until I have the right tires? I know it will fit...but mounting/dismounting is dangerous...etc. Anyone got experience? |

do it once, do it right. |

I think you'd be ok for milder driving, but why risk it? |
don't you dare ruin those wheels i just sent ya! :rofl2:

Thats what I was told too. I've always had the opposite problem...so I'm not too sure about this one. I've read several times that it will be just fine and that, while not ideal, it will work without any issues. Then I hear how unprotected they are going to be and how doing two mount/dismounts adds a higher likelihood of scratching them. So I'm thinking I'm just going to wait and get RE-11's... It seems that my sports package wheels might be getting sold quickly...
Yeah Phelan, I definitely don't want to mess them up, they are definitely some of the coolest wheels I've seen. |
They look better on Phelan's car. :stirthepot:
|
They are sweet but it's really unfortunate who you had to buy them from. :icon17:

RCZ, I think those rims will look sweet on your car. I'm excited for pics. |

Yup, I've come to that conclusion. Looks like new RE-11's for me. 265/305
|
they're nice wheels but IMO you should get a different color, it's too similar color to your paint.
|
Did you ever install that stillen lip?
