Rears weigh 21.3lbs which is around 2.5lbs lighter than stock rear. Fronts weigh 20.6 which is 2.6lbs lighter than the stock. Not bad for being a half inch wider. New lugnuts weigh a bit less than 1/4lb per corner vs 3/4lb per corner of the stock lugnuts.

That adds up to 10.2lbs for wheels and 2lbs for lugs for a total of 12.2lbs. Now I've heard estimates as to what that translates to in sprung weight. Usually you multiply by 4X. So thats ~50lbs of weight from the stock setup for half inch wider all around

EDIT: ALSO

Stock tires weigh:
Front Stock Bridgestone RE050A (245/40/19): 29lbs (13.15kg)
Rear Stock Bridgestone RE050A (275/35/19): 33lbs (14.97kg)

The setup I want to run:

RE-11 265/35/19 - 29lbs
RE-11 305/30/19 - 32lbs

That is an additional weight saving of 2lbs even though the tires are 20mm and 30mm wider.

RCZ 01-04-2011 05:08 PM

I dont want to buy new tires until I sell old wheels/tires. So seeing the Volks on might take a little while.

jnaut 01-04-2011 05:21 PM

thank you for the info, bro!

RCZ,

I was reading your review of the Stillen SC kit. Do you still have it installed and is everything still going well? I have one on the way to my local tuner in the Denver area along with the CBE and tranny cooler to be installed on my G37S. I will be getting a custom tune. Was just wondering how your setup is working as there is a lot of negative posting regarding the kit.

Thanks,
Dave

RCZ 01-05-2011 10:04 AM

Yes still installed and going as perfectly as the day I got it tuned. So far I've had less issues than I was expecting from going FI. In fact the only small issue that I have with the car is being caused by the SRM not playing nicely with my lightweight flywheel / crank pulley. Revs kinda randomly when coming out of gear, and then bounces off idle a couple times then stabilizes. Its a little annoying, but I understand that the system isnt made to be driving around town at 20mph.

So no, nothing negative to report here as of yet. No soot on my bumper, no weird noises, no detonation that I'm aware of and no heat problems.

Thanks for the update. I am pumped about getting mine installed.

Gorgeous or Georgeous? :roflpuke2:

jeffreyfranz 01-06-2011 06:44 PM

I should have been more specific. Also, forgot I was on the previous page when I posted. I meant gorgeous (or Georgeous) wheels, to RCZ.

RCZ 01-07-2011 04:45 PM

Thanks Jeffreyfranz. They won't be mounted for a while, but that just gives me something to look forward to now :)

CrownR426 01-07-2011 04:51 PM

What a tease...
We want pics ASAP!
Don't let us down!

RCZ 01-07-2011 09:06 PM

Wont be for a few weeks. Business trip again... its like every time I get something fun I have to go away and don't get to enjoy it!

RCZ 01-09-2011 11:53 AM

Where is everyone buying their GT-R start buttons?? Thinking about getting one. Found on fontana Nissan on sale, but then shipping is $9 somehow, so it negated the entire idea of being on sale.

Anyone?

m4a1mustang 01-09-2011 11:57 AM

West Covina Nissan.

NewYorkJon34 01-09-2011 01:05 PM

The GT-R buttons are easy to find, & are only $30-40.

RCZ 01-09-2011 01:34 PM

Just wondering who's offering the best deal, that's all. Fontana came out to $43. Its kinda silly to shop around so much for small things like these, but I guess that's part of the fun.

SPOHN 01-09-2011 01:48 PM

Seems that's about the best price you'll get out the door. Z1 motorsports and the Z store are two good places to order from. Maybe if you order something else they'll cut you more of a deal. But your still only saving couple bucks. But you sound like me when it comes to a deal.

RCZ 01-09-2011 02:04 PM

If I can find one for under $40 shipped, I'm buying.

NewYorkJon34 01-09-2011 03:41 PM

Here you go bro, $36: The Z Store! Nissan-Datsun 240Z-260Z-280Z-280ZX-300ZX(Z31/Z32)-350Z-370Z Parts: GTR Push Button Ignition Switch, 09-10 370Z

Dembflyr 01-09-2011 04:09 PM

:iagree:

I ordered mine from the Z store just last week. Shipped it parcel post and it came to $41.85.

RCZ 01-09-2011 05:54 PM

Awesome, thanks a lot guys, one more mod :)

m4a1mustang 01-09-2011 06:00 PM

One more mod, 200 more whp. :D

Osiris 01-09-2011 06:05 PM

LOL RCZ! We seem to be on the same mod path....stillen sc, HP Logic tune, RE-11's (mine have arrived), Volk's, Red GTR start button (ordered mine from Covina)....do you have a nav? if so, did you get the rear view camera? Got mine installed last month. Also did powder coat on calipers.

RCZ 01-09-2011 06:21 PM

Haha Yeah M4, shush.

Hehe, great minds think alike!

Awesome, how are you liking your SC kit?

I haven't ordered the RE11's since I don't have money for my stock wheels/tires yet! I can't wait to get them, what size did you go with??

Which Volks? Did you get SL's?

Yeah, I have the stock navi. How much was it to get that rear view camera installed? That would be a nice mod down the line!

Let me know next time you drive down! You should try and make a West Palm Meet. Its like 3 hours for you! Hour and a bit for me.

Honestly, i don't know what to say about my SC kit. I would like to eventually ride in another Z with the kit to see if the performance is same or better or other.

I got the 265/35/19 & 305/30/19's ....should also be picking up my Volk TE-37's this week. On top of that will also be installing Swift springs.

The backup camera was around $200 (included plug and play harness w/camera). I did the install myself, so if you decide to get one i can help you with the install.

When is the West Palm meet?

RCZ 01-09-2011 06:46 PM

I dont know when the next one is since I'm out of town right now and not paying much attention, but when I get back I'll check. I'd be happy to give you a ride if you're ever down in south Florida. I'd be really interested in getting a ride in your car to see what it feels like compared to mine. I can't imagine that I somehow have a special car / kit that you don't when I get tuned by HPL just like you did.

OK, awesome on the tires. Looks like I'll be doing the same thing pretty soon.

$200, thats not terrible. I might just take you up on that offer some day. Kinda makes it tough since you live so far away. I have been considering driving up to Orlando with my gf to get some deep dish Pizza! If I do, I'll shoot you a message first.

I've got a question regarding TPMS. Is there any way to run two sets of TPMS sensors on the same TPMS computer? I saw someone on the subaru forums had bought a new tpms computer and would swap that out every time he swapped wheels. Worked out for him. So is there any way to do it?

RCZ 01-11-2011 02:03 PM

nobody?

Zat_Zuma 01-11-2011 02:47 PM

Never thought of that option.
Heck, I haven't even researched that option.
We're all waiting for you to tell us how it's done.

RCZ 01-11-2011 03:30 PM

Damnit! Haven't you thought of everything yet, Zat?

Zat_Zuma 01-11-2011 03:32 PM

LOL .... No, I'm still only a mortal and not made it to a god status yet :p

RCZ 01-11-2011 10:15 PM

hahaha yeah, well....I think I might cheap out and just run one set. I'll deal with the tpms light with one set!

IMWEZL 01-12-2011 07:26 AM

Maybe I'm missing something but on tire rack they sell the spare TPMS and I was looking into this as an option when I thinking about running winter tires. I didn't think I would need an extra computer.

RCZ 01-12-2011 11:22 AM

Well, the tpms computer only recognizes 4 sensors at a time. So each time you switch wheels, you would have to go to the dealer for a tpms reset. Thats all well and dandy if the dealer does it for free, but I know my dealers down here hate their customers, so they will want to charge me $100 for it every time.

RCZ 01-12-2011 06:30 PM

Selling my extra set of TPMS sensors in the FS area.

semtex 01-12-2011 06:30 PM

:hello: Hi Raul!

RCZ 01-12-2011 06:32 PM

Ben! Hows it going??

semtex 01-12-2011 06:33 PM

It's going. Still breathing. ;) I love what you've done with your Z, man.
